I was wondering, do you specialize - i.e., you build different kits of just one subject (e.g. M1 series Abrams)? Or a particular category (Nazi armor, seaplanes, medieval figures)?

I don't speacialize in anything. I prefer WWII German armor, but I do dabble in other things. The thing that has made me deviate from my normal choices is ArmoramA community. I have built and recently purchased things I wouldn't have until I found this site. I say, "have a favorite, but dabble occasionally."

I lean towards modern armor, particularly modern US armor, but will build anything.

When I first decided to get back into modeling I was going to concentrate on recreating scenes from movies. My first model was an M3 Lee from Sahara. Then I discovered Armorama. Now you folks having me building a ship, figures, you might even get me to try another 'wingy thingy.' The one thing I'm going to try to concentrate on is modeling the 'good guys.' I intend to only make knocked out German stuff to go along with any Allied things I make.

I specialize in Inspiration.
What ever strikes my fancy gets built. Recent events have sparked a huge desire to build one of those huge supply trucks or an M88, heck even a hummer.
I hit all over the place - as far as topic, but up till recently its been mostly WWII era stuff, but US, German, AFV, AC hasn't mattered.

I usually build WWII Ships and any kind of plane from WWII and up. Don't really know if you would call that a specialty, but that is what I am most interested in thus far. I may "dabble in other things but mainly stay in those two general areas

:-) I aim to build aircraft that served during WW II, all types all combatants. I have built other stuff in the past and I intend to build a ship and a piece of armour for verious campaigns, here on Armorama. :-)

I lean towards modern armor, but I do have a couple WWII kits that I have yet to build. That's part of the reason why I signed up for the Operation Barbarossa Campaign...to try something new and different.

I seem to have found a real interest in WWII armor both allied and german as I seem to have a fair knack at it. I also really like WWII aircraft but don't seem to be able to do as well as I do on the armor..
I do have quite a few old cars and trucks to do sometime also.. but I really shy away from moderen armor and aircraft as they just doesn't interest me as much.

My interests in modeling subjects is evolving, in large part to the wonderful modelers here on Armorama. But, I have to say that 99.9% of everything I do is WWII related. I prefer armor subjects, mostly because I can create "vignettes" and little dio's out of them, but love to do aircraft and ships as well.

I like to model things I have a personal connection to. It brings the subjects alive for me that way. But mostly I'm all over the board - I guess sci-fi is the only genre I haven't tried...

I started off with WW2 dios. then i made a few things that took my fancy... modern armor. Now I dont have and preference as to what era. I build what I fancy at that time. I have never built any aircraft, but I have seen some here recently that have been quite tempting because they have been weathered nicely. Maybe something like a Blackhawk could be a reality some day! I have even ventured into figures a bit as of late. One thing I know is it helps development a lot to have a go at other areas. Figure painting has helped my painting skills immensely!

Modeling is a hobby not a job so you can build whatever you want. I tend to build aircraft in the 1/48 scale, but thats no rule. When you see something you like, Build IT! I'm working on my first ever ship right now for the Anchors Away campaign and I don't think I like building ships. But it is still a good experience because now I know I would rather look at ship models than build them. . Im also about to try armour modelling for the first time as well. I sure hope I enjoy it because I have two expensive Tamiya kits that I will have to finish,or die trying!
Thats just my opinion on these affairs.

Mostly i like to build WW2 German armour, but have built a couple of M-113's and a Bradley. The M-113's were the Academy kits and are very impressive. So i might branch out more if i can find other kits as good

I build solely IDF vehicles and equipment. Although lately I've had the urge for figures.

Well,
I prefer German WW II armor, though on my wishlist I have various other subjects ( 1/48 Su-27 and/or variants, 1/48 F-14, 1/350 Bismarck, Yamato and Prince of Wales and maybe some figures (medieval and classical))... But WW II German armor is my favorite, at least for now, and is what I want to focus on, at least for the near future...

My main interest lies in German armor from WW II. That is what 85% of my kits and references are. However, I have branched out a bit, and picked up some armor kits that just look pretty darn cool. For instance the Leopard 2A5, or the S-tank. Plus, all of Tamiya's new armor kits are such a pleasure to build, that I pick them up as well. I am really looking forward to making the T-55.
In addition, Star Wars has always fascinated me, so I have picked up some of those models. Unfortunately, I have found them to lack the refinement found in Tamiya and DML kits!
