Wilder

Formed in 2011, Wilder Products produces effective finishing products and accessories for constructing, painting and weathering all types of scale replicas and dioramas. Wilder's website has videos and links to demonstrations and how-to articles.

Introduction

This week I received a package from the Airbrush Company Ltd with a selection of offerings by Wilder Products. This review is of their reusable malleable non-toxic adhesive Takk.

Takk

Takk arrives in an eye catching blue, yellow and black flat flat card package with a cellophane window. It is locked by a tab and opens and closes easily for keeping your Takk safe. The material is held on a sturdy card and protected by a plastic cover. You receive 35 grams.

The white material is putty-like and stretches, yet can be nipped off in small amounts. It is tacky but not greasy or sticky. It is advertised as non-toxic.

I used small amounts to hold different items for different purposes. It held upright a 1/35 resin soldier and his dog. It held upright a 1/35 lead figure. A small dop held metal HO freight car trucks and pieces of another 1/35 figure. I even adhered a couple of larger parts together to temporarily check the fit between the parts.

The metal figure was being positioned for photography so I used the smallest piece of Takk that I could. It held her upright long enough for the photos, but she started to lean eventually. The other figure stood erect and did not, with a larger gob under his one foot.

Takk held the truck steady enough to a smooth paint brush handle for me to dab it with another paint brush.

Conclusion

I am pleased with this product. It did not leave my fingers or the parts gooey. The small pretty package is easy to open and reclose, and the strips of Takk are securely held in their sleeve.

I will try this as mask and see how it works if glue and paint gets on it. Overall I am pleased with Takk, believe it is a useful tool, and recommend it.
