Just when you thought it was safe to peek into your storage room, Jack whips up another new release. This latest, is a three man recon team form the IDF. It is called "under fire" and I can say I love it, since I did not sculpt it! I asked my sculptors to work hard for realistic poses. I don't care how long the figures take as long as when I get them, I want to paint them yeasterday! I like em, and I think you will too. Check out the image here!
Cast in grey resin. One guy is armed with the mekutzar (short M16) another with the IDF produced RPG launcher, while the third bad boy, is seated grasping a "Timberwolf" often used seldom seen, Israeli shotgun. Public price is Euros 24.70 You Armomaniacs qualify for the 10% discount. You can contact me by mail or look up our sight link. We are hot on the next release, so stand by!

I have never built the Italeri version. How does it compare to the Tamiya? More detailed I would guess? I just remember how darn small it was. I always felt it was going to break apart in my hands.

The Italeri kit had very petite detailing. It was leaps and bounds ahead of the Heller, Monogram and early Tamiya versions (both SAS and Willys). I have not compared it to the new Tamiya one yet (haven't picked it up), but the newer Tamiya kits have been superb and I bet the late 90s Tamiya Jeep is much better than the late 70s Italeri one, just mainly due to age.

At least Italeri gave variations to the Jeep: regular, ambulance, commando, and now recon. All basically the same kit.

Ahh, I have the new Tamiya Willy's..A great kit. The only kit so far as I know that has the proper bumber up front (a squared "u" shaped hunk of steel). I posted two shots of the jeep at the Evergreen Musuem. They were too small, if you want super duper large ones, I will be more than happy to email them to you, just say the word. Anyway, the new Tamiya jeep is a killer!

Mark,
Please do re-send (or upload) those jeep images!

Glad to hear Tamiya would not be outdone on the kit they pioneered. Speaking of that. Does anyone know what their first armor kit was?

Not compared to the newest Tamiya one, it puts the Italeri/Revell of Germany one to shame. But it is still a nice kit.

I support the Tamiya kit, I built the Italeri and its very good indeed, but the Tamiya new mold is a blast! Real detailed and correct, very nice but you have to pay its price. Have Fun

Price isn't too bad in the states, $18 for new Tamiya kit, $12 for Italeri/Revell.

Glad to you Rob, here the Italeri is listed for about R$35,00 and the Tamiya is R$50,00.... its a huge diference. Have fun
