I am painting my Roman Centurion bust. His helmet has golden / bronze pieces of jewellery . How do I paint a wash on these?

I would mix the base color with black so that it is very, very dark. Then dilute it so that is mostly thinner and wash it with that mix.

Hola!
For gold and bronze items I use a wash of Burnt Umber or Vandyke Brown oils.
