I was checking out Alanger Usa's website, and wanted to know if anyone had any experience with them. Should I buy from them? They've got some great deals (almost too good to be true).

There have been two or three threads about Alanger - i would check these out and then make your own decision.

Check out this thread at FSM's forum. Please do so before placing an order. Their website shows great prices, and I have received good service from them in years gone by, but would not send my hard earned money there any more.

well, I already bought 20 bucks worth of kits last night, but I did it through PayPal so if something goes wrong I can get my money back. Oh well I'll have to wait and see what happens

All of the e-mails are from and directed to [email protected] so maybe they're under new management. All I have received so far is an order confirmation e-mail.

I bought three kits from them on three different occasions, all through e ba y.
- first kit arrived fine.
- second kit took a long long long time, so long I emailed and received replies that it was already sent to me, then finally arrived. I assume it was not in their stock so they had to order it from someone else but didn't want to tell me that part.
- third kit arrived fine.
I've heard different stories from different sources.

I always got my kits, though the last order took longer. A year or so ago, they had a flurry of online complaints posted in various newsgroups, but the order I placed at that time did arrive--took six weeks, but the prices were outrageously low, so I'm not complaining.

That is good news. I really hope that whatever problems they were having before have been worked out.

I purchased an item, T-35 ICM kit, on March 18th and still haven't received it. Escalated through PayPal as a Dispute, promised the item a week later, still haven't received it. Very hard to get a response by email and getting ready to escalate this via Paypal for resolution. His prices are rock bottom, but the service also reflects that IMHO...there wasn't any sort of similar delay for him to transfer the funds for the purchase I can assure you. Buyer beware, my experience will mean that I will never do business with them again but others have a different feeling, so it can be a very mixed bag for sure.

Briefly put: Bought over $100 worth of kits. Had to follow up multiple times after not receiving any tracking info in 1 week. Communication is terrible. It takes 2 days or more for them to reply to your e-mail. Received the kits in about 2 weeks but with a number of them missing. Filed a complaint after not getting any response from them. Eventually they refunded $35 for the missing kits. The bonus kit was one of the missing kits. I have to say the prices are the lowest I've seen but it's really not worth the frustration IMHO.

Ditto to what Rob said...I was able to recover the funds via PayPal but would've much rather had the kit.

That's how my difficulties started. Then I mailed him back the wrong kit as he requested and it took forever to get the money back for return shipping and the returned kit. Don't think I got money back for the original shipping charge I paid when I ordered the kit.
