Reading through the TV guides & Listener on how the various free-to-air channels are recognising ANZAC Day it's sad that most of them shuffle the commemoration into the morning as an afterthought. TV1 has a few programmes which may be worth recording or watching; TV 2 & TV 3 NADA; Prime has a programme on D-Day, followed by 3 hours of Australian news then we have a Paul Holmes Special...woweee!

The only TV station that goes all out to recognize the importance of the day is Maori TV, which has programming running from 6 am through to 11.30pm, starting with dawn services and ending with The Last Post.

Jeff,
I had exactly the same feelings as you regarding ANZAC programming. I watched Maori TV until about 1pm when I had to go to work.......damn the sales From what I saw it was very well done and specially ejoyed to program about kiwi troops in Afghanistan and of course the Maori Battalion stuff was great. Did you get to watch any of it?

Hi Andy,
I taped quite a bit, but haven't had much of a chance to watch. From what I have seen the programme on Gallipoli (on about 12.30) was good. Some interesting memories from ex-servicemen and women as well.

Did you guys not check out sky digital? The History channel covered ANZAC really well. They did have more stuff on WWII but quite a few on WWI too.
