I use On the Mark Models, Aber, and Kendall Model Company (KMC) tie-downs.

Thanks Guntruck. Are these tie downs individual sets or do you have to take them out of sets for other vehicles?

Nope - all are individual sets. Aber's is the most extensive, you get several sizes and more of them in total than the other two MFG's sets.

I have a set from accurate armour at home. They can be used for tie-downs, belts or straps. There are about 6 different sizes in the one little set.

I've used the On the Mark PE (and others), but it always seems liek they don't give you enough. I make my own tie-downs for U.S. vehicles. I made a jig that I wrap with fine copper speaker wire, cut a bunch of them, and glue them on with CA.

Hey sauer,
Have three ways to do tie-downs:
1) On The Mark set
2) Aber set (realy cool)
3) Steve Zaloga's technique of two punched plastic discs and a thin (0.010) rod layed across.

Aber's German clamps are in three pieces that you must fold and assemble into the latch. If you can do it right, they'll work when finished. It's too much for me and I won't be using them again....I think I'll be happier with the kind that are all one piece of PE but don't work. I'm not sure who's set is like this but I know I've seen at least one.
