So how did you make out? We are still digging out but we are back to work and school. We had about 16 inches of snow and 40 miles per hour winds. Things were pretty dicey Tuesday and Wednesday.

Shaun

/Feel sorry for those folks who were stuck for 16 hours on the interstate.

We lucked out again.
Actually we got abut 2 inches where I live, but it was ice, not snow.
Came down all night in little pellets. And today it will be a heat wave around 20 degrees. :-)

We have over a foot here.(probably about 16in) Much more in the drifts.
Not just snow but a thick layer of snow then 1 to 3 inches of ice followed by another thick layer of snow.
Even managed to get this dang stat of disaster stuff going on out here. Those guys in Harrisburg are pussies. :-)

Personally the driveways never been better (We ran out of gas for the tractor and couldn’t get out to get any. Had to hire a professional plower.) and the weather looks fine.

Yes I know we’ll supposed to get more soon.

Amazing what a 100+ miles does for you. Down in the Louisville-Knox area, nothing. A few flurries that did not accumulate.

Aaaahh....sweet memories of my old country......you guys gets all the fun.
Care to share with you? For a change I'd love to have a decent winter.
I don't know how people and transportation would handle a winter a la northern Sweden here though....
Here's some warm eggnog with rum, brandy, or whisky. Also have hot toddy and chocolate with marsmellows for those who want that...
Free from the Big A's bar and cafe'....

I hope that you, your family and friends are all staying warm and safe.

Guess we're paying for those 70 (21 C) degree days in January. We got about 3 inches of sleety snow on Wednesday, which was quite easy to clear with the snow blower despite being quite heavy. We've been below freezing pretty much all month except for a 40 degree day about two weeks ago which allowed me to wash my car. At just about 11:00 am, it's 24 degrees F (-4 C).

Glad you guys all made out all right. Seeing news shots of people shoveling six foot drifts off of their ROOFS was enough to convince me I'm living right where I want to be. Hope you all keep dodging those bullets.

Dave, you must be in Northern New Jersey. In southern New Jersey we didnt get anything at all. No rain, snow, sleet, zip. I was kind of hoping for it too as snow makes me a lot of money. As one other poster said, you can actually see what global warming is doing to the climate. There is no more turning a blind eye to it.

Muncie got 10.5-13 inches (they still aren't sure). Doesn't matter because we have snow drifts of 2-4 feet. What's interesting is that the plows cut out paths but stopped in some areas, so it like a rat in a maze trying to get to classes. Kind of funny actually.

Ball State (wisely) cancelled classes not one day but two! - Tuesday AND Wednesday. One of my professors who has been teaching for 15 years here said they have not cancelled classes at any point of his tenure. Campus has been closed before, but it never happened while classes were in session. I'm gonna frame both of the email our president sent us saying classes were cancelled.

As for the wind chill, I walk to PT about 6am most mornings, about a about half a mile through the wind tunnels of campus. Maybe its just me, but I didn't notice it being any colder than usual - certainly not the -19 wind chill that they said we have - but then again there wasn't much wind either. Or I'm just growing a hide that I haven't noticed.

A picture is worth a thousand words... mostly curse words...

Almost nothing all winter, then a full season's worth of snow in about 24 hours...

What part of Southern Jersey are you livin' in!? Here in Cherry Hill we got about 3 inches of snow and then an ice storm that literally covere everything with ice. It's not even safe walking anywhere but streets that have been dry!

I suppose you guys really don't want to hear that apart from it being cooler this morning, coastal cloud/mist, I'm in for another day of high 20's - low 30's (centrigrade)... after work it's off to the beach for a run, a surf, and sundowners...

Life's a beach...

Survived the ice storm, survived sub freezing temps all week, survived slipping and ice patches until 4:30 this morning when I went head over heels, on the ice while dumping the trash into the dumpster. Spent the morning in the hospital getting X-rays. Nothing broken, but sure have a few sore spots.

Here in Kentucky, the only white stuff we get is the half inch thick coating of road salt on the bare roads. Really needed during these 50 degree days.

The bad thing right now, is the above freezing temps during the day (melting the snow), and below freezing temps overnight (freezing into ice), so conditions are just as nasty as the storm itself.
