I'm Anne AKA SOW1.. I'm a crazed Texas woman stuck in the land of the rising sun (Japan for those of you not familiar with the term) My huhsband StugiiiF is a member and I started coming on and getting tips for my figures and giving info on sculpting... I'm getting ready to start my first kit... And would LOVE any tips anyone can give... It's an Academy Spitfire, and all info is welcome.

Hi SOW1 PIG # 69
I'm begining to like pigs even more
Spitfire, now you are talking. You can't have to many spitfires. Is it the 1/72 or 1/48 kit you have. I've built both the 1/48 Spits by Academy, you can see one here:

Any questions nip over to the Aircraft board and we will try and help

This Spit is 1/48th scale, and I'm really scared to work on it... All I've ever done is Nude figures and help sculpt ceramic for my husband's dioramas.... But I'm willing to try anything once.. I'd appreciate any advice...

Welcome aboard SOW1 a.k.a Anne! Glad to have ya!

I have not much experience (none since I was 12) in building air things, but I did find a couple of sites with builds of the Academy Spitfire: (I hope these sites are for the same kit you have)

1/48 Academy Spitfire
Supermarine Spitfire

Nude figures ? Sculpting ceramics ? You must be a good figure builder then ! If that Spit goes down in flames you'll still be most welcome in the figures den. But I'm sure it won't. Think Nike. Just do it.
