OK, time to put your picks down on record. My choices:

Saints 21, Bears 17

Patriots 24, Colts 21

I think both games will be decided by the difference of a score, whether it is a field goal or touch down.

As much as I love my Patriots, I am a Peyton Manning fan and would like to see him win one before he starts to get old. I do not think the Colts as a team have the right stuff to get him there though.

As for the NFC, the Bears' defense seems rather ordinary as of late. The Saints seem to be on a roll, and their rookie wide receiver is from my alma matter, so I will root for them.

Although it would be interesting to see a replay of the 1985 Super Bowl with the Pats and the Bears, though this time the Bears would be the under dogs.

Gotta go with the Colts at home. They have only lost 2 home games in the last three seasons and one of those was the Chargers game last year when the starters all sat after the first series. (22-2 at home)
I was at the Chiefs game and that was crazy enough. Can't imagine what it will be like Sunday.

And, as Patriots fans will tell you Vinitari is money.

Colts 27 Patriots 9

I am taking the Saints. Colston, McCallister, Bush, Brees, etc. The Bears fans should be praying for a blizzard. The line is all over the place for this one, too, which is odd. I don't bet on anything (I would sooner spend the money on kits) but the line is everywhere from Bears -3.5 to Bears -1.

Shaun

/I think Colston was the fourth to last player picked in the entire draft. If he hadn't gotten hurt I think would have been the Rookie of the Year.

Colts and Saints to win. I definitely think that Vinitari is going to show that Patriots why they should have never let him go. Most of my other reasons have been mentioned above.

Well I said it in the other thread and I'm going to stick with my picks from earlier in the week; Colts and Bears.

The Bears D has indeed been somewhat "normal" over the last few weeks but I'm giving them the nod mainly because they're at home.

Getting Bob Sanders back in the lineup seems to have energized the Colts defense, and I don't think Peyton and the Colts offense will make the same kind of mistakes the Chargers did. It will be close but again Indy wins with the help of the home field crowd.

The Bears D maybe good, but the Saints have too many weapons.
Saints over the Bears.

It isn't looking good for the Bears. They are ahead and have been all game but if you are going to put the game in Grossman's hands, that ain't good...

Five minutes into the game and the Pats are up 21-3. I will not count Manning out until there are five minutes left in the game and he's down by three scores.

Man, I need Adam Sandler's remote control so I can fast forward life to the 2 minute warning.

lol..as usual the "experts" doubt the Bears and once again we prove them wrong. I'm sure they'll give us no chance in the Super Bowl either.

The family nature of this site precludes me from expressing in words what I am really thinking.

As the announcer said: "To all those who thought Peyton Manning would not reach the Superbowl, YOU ARE WRONG!!!"

Those Pats put up one heck of a show. That was great! WHAT A GAME!!!!!

No classes tomorrow, no PT, we are rioting!!!!

I was a great game. One of the best playoff games I have seen. Three touchdowns by offensive linemen? Who has ever even heard of that? I guess the gorilla is off Manning's back for at least 2 weeks.
I have to give credit to the Patriots for coming out early and getting it done. I think the flu and the Chargers game really took a toll. Their defense just got tired I think.

Shaun
/Like Coach Dungy said, they should play the Super Bowl in Fort Wayne.
//Everyone North of Indianapolis was a Bears fan until the Colts came to town.

The Deuce was held to 6 yards rushing? Someone didn't try to establish the run.

Props to the Bears and the Colts! I really didn't dislike any of the four teams, but they are the two I wanted to win. A couple of really good games yesterday, (at least from my point of view ). The Colts Pats especially was a good game, you really have to give credit to Indy for hanging tough when they went down 21-3. The Bears D really played tough, but like Shaun, I would have thought the Saints would try to establish the run more than they did. Anyway, this Superbowl looks like it could be a good one.

Oh and Carl, Peyton may or may not get his ring, but I guess Brady's three rings must have gotten in his way and made him throw that late interception huh!? (sorry I couldn't resist )

Opening line: Colts by 7. We (the foundry I work for) were drawn for 4 Super Bowl tickets. (They have a drawing for season ticket holders. It is weighted by how many season tickets you have and how long you have had them. The foundry has had 8 season tickets since the Colts have been in Indy) I don't have enough stripes to go but at least someone can bring me a hat...

/Face value on a Super Bowl ticket, $650...
