Greetings, mates!
I just wanted to give a very sincere congratulations to Mr. Jim Starkweather, our Commander in Chief here at KitMaker, in regards to the five year anniversary today, of his original Armorama idea and experience.
I myself have seen the site grow in leaps and bounds in the last couple of years, and here's to many more successful years in the future!
To Jim and all of the original Armorama members/supporters, thank you for bringing this wonderful idea of an online worldwide modelers community alive, and I'm very proud to be a part of it!
Cheers,
Mark

Congratulations Jim. Thank you very much for the information, encouragement, laughs, and very real friendship this site has given me over the years. I don't know where I would have been at times without it. Here's to another 5 years, and many more.

I think I made my first post around December 16th or so. I wonder if we can check the first posts made on the opening days?

Rob - I remember on a previous anniversary Jim had re-posted his 'introduction' posts. Think back to the way the site used to look! It has changed so much.

Congratulations on five years of Armorama, Jim.
It's hard to believe that much time has passed
I remember when you came down to our Old Dominion Open in 2002, a couple of months after your stared this site.
This is a great website and although I don't post as much, I still check in several times a day.
Here's to many years more........

Actually tomorrow (Dec 16th) is the site's birthday. My profile says "joined Dec 15, 2001" because that was an arbitrary date I set at some point when most of the early signups did not have "join dates".
Either way close enough! :-)
I will be posting something on the anniversary later. I want to carry this out for a little bit so we don't have to think of it as something we need to cram into one day.
Thanks!
Jim

Glad to see you Ron! Thanks for the warm wishes. It's always nice to see some of our founding members posting again even if just to say Hi. I wish more of them would.
I hope all is well in Richmond.
Cheers,

Glad to hear Tamiya would not be outdone on the kit they pioneered. Speaking of that. Does anyone know what their first armor kit was?
Jim
I believe their first armor kit was the 1/50 scale WW2 Crusader British tank, or at least that's what George Bradford of AFV News told me. And yes, I have one.

I can't believe its been 5 years. But as the suggestion topic shows I've only had more questions than real content....
It is quite interesting to note how the site has become, thinking we cheered and had drinks on the house when we were 20 at the same time on the site!!
Which brings to mind what will happen in the next 5 years...
Drinks all around!! Cheers!!

I want to thank everybody for the wonderful years I have had here!
It sounds crazy but modelling is an important factor in my life. I have met many "modelling addicts" who became real friends and Armorama really contributed to that.
I specially want to thank our Big Jim for creating this wonderful community and offcourse all the members!
Big thank you to you all!!
