Hi,

Many thanks Jim for the AA and also for starting the other languages sites where the no fluent english speakers have found a second home.

Ahoy All,

Firstly, Congratulations to Jim.....you have a unique thing going here!

Discovered this place a little over a year ago and I must say it is
just a great place. Keep up the great work and thanks for the time you
put in.

Secondly, I must mention that the staff and members that I have met
on this site are just as unique as the site itself.....a GREAT BUNCH!

Let us all keep contributing in our own ways in keeping this site NO: 1

Jim, just out of curiousity, but do you know how many December 2001 members are still active on the site versus how many we had join during those two weeks?

Congrats Jim!

As a relative late comer to the site, I must say it's extremely enjoyable and for me at least, a huge boost to the hobby!!!

Cheers!!!

Jim, Staff and fellow members, Happy 5th Birthday! I have to say it’s been a great run these last few years here. Not only have I had the pleasure to meet a handful members, I also had the pleasure to talk to hundreds of members ( Costas, Engin, Sabat, HeavyArty, Aussie Dave, Stormbringer, Silantra, and please forgive me for the many…many other names not mentioned.) through out the world.

We have shared our views (God only knows :-) :-) :-) )our lives through good and bad. All this was made possible, in a dream from one man…Jim Starkweather.

Happy Birthday Armorama

Guess, I'm not quite an oldie around here, but perhaps joining earlier in 2002 puts me in the "getting a bit long in the tooth" category as far as member longevity.

I've met some good people here through the years, made some friends--- and am very thankful for that. This site provided the opportunity for that to happen, and my appreciation for that.

Well done on 5 years of an excellent website. I remeber when you offered it out to us figure modeller when our main site, the name of which i forget, was going to closed down. I jumped ship and have been here every since. Well done

Congratulations Jim on creating the most informative and friendliest site on the web all those years ago. And a big thanks to all the staff for continuing development and contributions. Here's to the next 5 years .
Any chance of posting a pic of the first homepage ?

I'm hard pushed to remember what the site looked like when I first joint, (a mere 2 years ago..) but i know that I prefered the look much over the bland offerings of other armour sites. i do however vividly remember any changes that where implemented by the Choosen One, as they where inevitabely accompanied by a chorus of dissaprovement from those already establisted as site users.... :-) :-) . But look where we are now.. the premier site on the net. I to would love to see a small gallery of previous 'homepages', if only to show people that progress is good.

Hi Jim, et al

Wow, hard to believe that Armorama is already 5 years young. And what a wonderful journey it has been - granted I haven't been on it for the full ride, it's still been one helluva fun trip!

I think without this site I would never have returned to the craft to the extent that I have. My thanks!

My great thanks go to the staff of Armorama, who have taken it from strength to strength over the years at their own sacrifice. I think very often folks forget how much time is spent editing and writing reviews and features, looking for content - be it news, ODs or even just interesting topics of conversation - and forging new relationships with vendors. Thanks guys!

I think we should also remember that without the great success of Armorama, we wouldn't have the great sites that can now be found within in Kitmaker Network.

And then there are all the new friends that I have made...

I think we all owe another person our great thanks. Without this person's willingness to share Jim with 20k + members worldwide and an evergrowing network of sites, none of this would have been possible.... that person is Kirsten Starkweather. Thanks Kirsten!!!

Warmest regards from HFM and Cape Town,

Rudi

Awwe....thanks Rudi. I will let her know you said that.

I apologize for not having anything "5th Birthday" up as yet. I was preparing a video and didn't like the results each time I did one so started a new one but it's taking longer to make than I had hoped. That and I have contracted a cold these last few days. :::sneeze:::

I kind of wish the sites b-day was not in December too. What was I thinking starting up a site 2 weeks before Christmas. :-)

Cheers,
Jim
