living in Sydney

Your greatest mistake yet!!

Aw c'mon Brad,
Sydney isn't that bad mate..Melbourne on the hand,i think they've put something fishy in the tap water .
Be careful of the amount of Vegemite ya smear on your toast next time digger.. excess amounts can cause dark hair growth in all nooks and crannies of the human anatomy :-) !
Back at the matter at hand,Vegemite or Marmite can also be smeared along with some butter onto dry weetbix, swirled down afterwards with a hot cuppa Milo!
cheers,Shay

I must say that the only way I can stomach that crap (Marmite/Vegemite) is in soup form. We used to get little bottles of the stuff in our Army rations, and a teaspoon or so in a cup of noodle soup thickened it up and gave it some flavour. Some guys used gun oil, but to each his own.

Okay,
This just gets wierder and wierder. Hit the link and click on the "click here to download music" link. Then hit the "Listen to Song" link.

Well worth the effort for the sheer creepy goodness. Happy little vegemites?

Breakfast of champions!

Jan, this is what it is and how it should be spread... Any thicker and your off your rocker...
HOT toast, plenty of marg ("It's like budaahh"!) and a nice even consistency...

Try a thin schmeer of Vegemite between the buttered toast and the scrambled eggs next time you brekky up that way.

I was wary at first, but quickly converted - it's delicious!

Im in Ohio, and have heard about vegemite years ago, nobody I know has ever tried it or has ever even seen it here in ohio. Its as rare as seeing a kangaroo in the wild in Ohio. What does it taste like?

Hey
Vegemite it rules !! :-)

National Icon in the land down under
Good breakfast /lunch starter
Recommended.

Ask any 1 australian if they have eaten vegemite on toast in the morning
95% will say yes
Brad,
I'm 39 still having it for lunch every day.

Aquired taste .

Beats having anything like kippers or Haggas in the morning

My 2 cents worth

Cheers
Michael

There is a story dating from WW2 I believe, of how a bunch of Kiwis (or Aussies, depending on the version you hear) who were trading with their USMC counterparts. The Kiwis had little tins of Marmite, and proceeded to explain to the Marines that it was condensed beer - 'just look at the ingredients...'

Obvioulsy the Americans thought the idea of condensed beer was great, and promplty parted with all their flash gear in exchange for the Marmite.

Apparently they were not ammused....
