Some, many of you, may not know that Armorama has it's own IPMS Branch. Click my banner to go to the site. Some, many of you, may not have heard of the IPMS. What you all need to know is that the IPMS (International Plastic Model Society) hold the Worlds largest model show, Scale Modelworld, at the Telford International centre on the 18th and 19th of November. Our branch, IPMS ArmoramaUK (but we are in the stages of changing our name), will be there, as will Jim Starkweather, the owner of this wonderful group of sites.

The branch came into existence to give Armorama members somewhere to meet at this, and other shows. There has been a certain amount of success with several of us getting together at shows around the country and we are planning regional "stands" so that we, as a group, can get to more.

At this years Scale Modelworld we are actually planning on having an "internet Cafe" so that we can show members of the public and potential sponsors what is on offer on the group of sites. We will have 4 PC's running connected to the internet, which is all pretty unique.

We want to meet as many of you as can get there over the 2 days and we also want to spread the word. To this aim if you are going, or think that you might be going, post here and we will try and have a name badge for you, at the stand. One of our main aims is to encourage the Younger, novice and female modeller, so if you have any youngsters then bring 'em along (one of our members is a nine year old girl, Courtney Brazier (yoghurt)) who builds some really good stuff and will be having them highlighted on the stand. We will be in hall 3, through which you enter, so you can't miss us.

So, post here if you are even thinking of going and, when you do go, make a point of getting to know us.

Hello

I should be there as well, both days if I can get away with it. It will be the first big model show I have ever been to so i'm looking forward to it. I'm from the West Midlands originally so i can crash at my folks to make it nice and easy

I'll be there if nothing interferes. Hopefully two days again, I've taken the time of from work, but as it now works out I'll not be working for this company anymore come Telford.. well, a bit sooner than that actually.

Cheers

I am happy to announce "officially" that I will be attending the show as well. Booked the flight and everything.

Charles Reading heard about my plans and decided he wanted to see jolly ole England as well. So we can be silly Yanks together.

Cheers,
Jim

Charles

I hope your first time over the pond, will be as good as mine was 2 years ago on my honeymoon. But it's not a good time to see the UK at it's best.

See ya there

Yes November is probably not the most hospitable time of year to visit. But I figure if we had come during the spring it would have just rained anyways! :-) Lol...sorry got that from listening to you guys complain about your weather.

I actually like fall/winter months so it won't be that big of a deal for me. Does it ever snow up near Birmingham at that time of year? I use to live in Illinois and early fall snows were not that uncommon there.

Cheers,
Jim

If you are lucky enough not to get wind and rain in November it'll probably be foggy.

But what ever the weather colonials always get a warm welcome.

Well its my intention to go both day's, I've been asked to take my partners Dad on the Saturday and Sunday for me to go silly looking though trade stand after trade stand.

Ireally ought to sort out my membership for the web side as we have no 'local' club.

Maybe I'll meet some of the 'names' and put faces to them..
