Hey Treadheads,
Just wanted to remind everybody that AMPSEAST 2006 is September 16th! It's at the Sheraton Danbury, 18 Old Ridgebury Road, Danbury, CT 06810. The hotel is beautiful and our 80 vendor tables are armor nirvana. After your wallet is empty, you can visit the Military Museum of Southern New England, just 2 miles away. It's your only chance to see a MINT condition BA-64, Topolino, FT-17, M-8 Greyhound, and M-18 Hellcat, among many others. Lots of modern armor too. They took the showroom perfect M-18 over to Danbury Airport and officially clocked it at 78 MPH! It's officially the world's fastest tracked vehicle.
Anyway, come to the show, show your masterpieces, hopefully win a medal, play the tank ID contest, pal around with all your friends, meet all these internet entities in person, spend all your money and have a fantastic time!

I'll be there bright and early to hit the vendors.

Will all the Armorama people present be getting together for a group shot?

It this still going to be just a one-day show? I've hear rumors that they were going to make it a two-day show.

Yes, it is still a one day show. When I first founded AMPSEAST, I picked September because it placed the show exactly halfway between AMPS Internats every April. I had no idea then that AMPSEAST would be so popular. Many guys have asked us to expand to a 2 day show so that we basically would be a second AMPS national sized event, 6 months from the AMPS Internationals. We have discussed the idea many times, but have always decided against it. The main reason is financial. We simply can't afford to double our venue cost. And I can't tell you here what kind of names I get called if I raise vendor table prices! The other reason is stress - our show is run by only 4 guys, and we are all ready to collapse by Saturday night.
Everyone who comes to our show says things like "Wow, you packed an AMPS International all into one day!" and all kinds of positive things. So it's still a one day show, but wow, what a day!
Also, we will be at the Sheraton Danbury from now on. The place is beautiful, it's like we moved from the South Bronx to 5th Avenue!

I only have a partial list right now:
Chesapeake Model Designs
Ausfwerks
Panzer Tracts
Formations
Baseline
WarStore Collectables
The checks are all rolling in now, so I guarantee you guys a full and awe-inspiring vendor room. I'll post a full list as soon as I have it.

No, unfortunately you have to guarantee a certain number of room nights to get a function discount, and we weren't able to do that.

I talked nice to the young lady on the phone, told her I was senile, half brain dead, and semi-handicapped, and she gave me some sort of first time visitor, welcome to the Sheraton discount price, of $119.00 per night, said regular price was $179.
After paying more per night last year at a fleabag motel 20 miles north, that had no restaurant, nor a properly working shower, the $119 is a deal.
Check in is at 3PM, so hopefully I'll be able to find one of those advertised "comfortable chairs"!

I believe that the two locations are on opposite ends of the state. I would guess around 100 miles apart.
