Gidday, I'm Jeff and I'm one of a small but growing band of modelling enthusiasts who have enlisted with Armorama/Aeroscale/Model Shipwrights from literally the other side of the world. (Ain't computers wonderful?)
At the age of 44 I've been joining polystyrene for decades.
I'm a member of IPMS Dunedin (1986) Inc. and was there from the beginning. (You'll find our page at ; http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ipms_dunedin/ )
Much of my hobby has centered around 1:48 scale air vehicles, but I have recently started concentrating on 1:35 scale ground-pounders, beginning with a Tamiya LRDG Chevy 'Te Aroha III'. Pictures will be forthcoming as soon as I get the hang of things.

Hey Jeff! Nice to see more kiwis jumping on the bandwagon.

Im not sure if we are going on about the same Chevy here but i took some photos from the recent MOTAT Army display quite a few months back and donated it to primeportal.net. Just thought it might be of some use to you in terms of reference photos.

Hellooooo Jeff:

Greetings and welcome the Big A from the Miami Jayhawk in
the American Heartland; i.e as "Dorothy" referred to . . . Kansas. I don't
live in the Emerald City but I try to stay on the Yellow Brick Road. . .

Eager to see your work. BTW, AJ just posted a detailed description of
how PC users (I'm a Mac man so can't help) post their images in a
forum thread. Good luck and welcome aboard.

Hello again, Jeff:

Well, re posting photos in forums, I decided I should offer you more help
than just mentioning Al LaFleche's (AJ) name. He and Mary Langley have
posted a number of threads in the Model Geek forum in response to a
call for help by Parto. Go to the Model Geek home page. In the middle
column about half way down You see the words "in Forum" and to the
right side as the same level "latest posts". Click on Latest posts and then
you will have all the Model Geek forum topics with a neato icon on the
left for each different kind of subject matter. If you scroll down quite a ways
you'll see "Photography/Editing" Help with posting photos. Two of the Big
A's most friendly and helpful members, Mary Langley and Al LaFleche
go into detailed instructions about just what must be done to post
pictures.

Good luck
Brigandine

Thanks all, for your warm welcome.
I've downloaded some photos as a member, and will move them to other places as I get used to the system.

The LRDG Chevy 'Te Aroha III' , which is my first military ground vehicle in years. is still being fettled; the photo was taken back in November. Since then the awful 'camouflage net' has been ditched (I'm still looking for the right material that hangs properly), I've applied a few more washes to tone down the pink camouflage, and the armament has been added to, with twin air-cooled .303 Brownings replacing the Lewis.

One question. Does anyone manufacture 1:35 scale British .303 air-cooled Brownings featuring cooling slots along the barrel sleeve?

Much of my inspiration for the project comes from a series of great books written by Brendan O'Carroll and from this site; http://blindkat.hegewisch.net/lrdg/lrdg.html.

(I hasten to add that the photos have been taken by other IPMS Dunedin club members, me being a complete novice with a digital camera.)

Other military projects include Trumpeter's 12.8cm 'Sturer Emil' and Dragon's Sdkfz 251/22.

Tht's it for the intro! Time to pull up my PC and get stuck in. Ah'll be back...

Excellent photos Jeremy. I couldn't be certain but I think I've seen that Chevy around Dunedin.
Here's a website worth looking into; http://www.oldcmp.net/findit.html if you haven't come across it before.

Cheers for that. The Sherman was my first armor kit since moving over from planes so as you can see....i stuck with modern armor ever since! I will be heading back to WWII armor soon just for a bit of a change though...so dark side....here i come!

Kia Kaha Phil! I've only just seen your message - a week later. My apologies. The LRDG is a favorite subject of mine; I only wish there were more of their vehicles available to build. At the moment extensive conversion work is needed to build anything other than the 30 cwt Chevy and the jeep.
