I just recently won, yes won, an IWATA studio series Smart Jet compressor from an Art Store raffle. It was one of those throw a few bucks in and get a raffle ticket contests.

Anyway, never thought I'd win, but did and now have this compressor hooked up. It is extremely, extremely quiet with an automatic off.

Does anyone know anything about this model air compressor; what to expect, what to watch out for? It is not one many of the online hobby stores carry and I'm wondering if there is a reason for that...

Firstly, congradulations!
The Iwata line of AC are very nice indeed. Quite expensive for the average model hobbiest (which might explain why you dont find at too many online hobby stores) very quiet too. If there is one draw-back to it (not everyone will see it as such) the air pressure is regulated by way of a bleed valve, which is also the moisture traps release. Not really anything to worry about.
You can go here to see a little more:

Hope this helps
