I came across this website this past weekend on the old USENET news group rec.models.scale (the granddaddy of all modeling sites). It is a scale modeling wikipedia where the users basically create the entries. This looks like it could eventually be a one-stop encyclopedia for all model information.

This is a very cool web site. I think I will save it as a favorite and start tracking entries....

Ahh.... but for the fact our server does not have MySQL 4.1+ we would have had this up and running ourselves already. I found that MediaWiki application a month or so back. It would make a good platform for KitBase.

I found this by accident one day when I was surfing. I didn't save the link and couldn't for the life of me remember what it was called.

Its a great resource.

Thanks Robin!

I think this idea could fly very well.....can you imagine a one stop shop for all reviews for every imaginable kitset out there?

Armorama could become like that but having it in the wikipedia style is best for people who just want to run it through a search engine and not filter through the "community" type stuff that we have here.

If you "google" a kit see what reviews are out there my quess is the Armorama.com pages will come up first.
Just think if ever member submitted just one unique review..... that's a TON of information.

I think the concept is great. A comprehensive and ever growing list of what models are or were made. Just a thumbnail sketch of what you get in the box and if it is good, bad or what. On The Way does this for 1/72 armo scale kits and AMPS does this for armor kits.

It would be nice to see a virtual list of all models at one spot. Not necessarily reviews for each but more of a look in the box.
