Hi there
A quiet day day at work and the sun shining was all the excuse I needed for a trip to Colindale to visit the RAF Museum and check out how Hannants are getting on in their new shop.
The good news is that they're already up and running with more space and clearer displays. The new layout's a bit of a shock for a regular like me who always knew where everything was and headed straight for what I wanted - but, of course, it means I get to see a load of stuff I'd have probably missed before... crafty! LOL!
All the best

Shame they had to move (another reason not to go to Tesco's - like I needed another one). Bet those retail units get hot in weather like we've just had.....

Hi David
Yes, I was sad they had to move too. I'd grown attached to the old shop after shopping there for more years than I care to remember!
But I think most people will agree the new premises are better, once they get used to them. They've made a virtue out of a necessity and there's more space and it's much easier to see and reach the kits - which is really what it's all about.
And, you'll be glad to hear, although it was pretty hot outside yesterday in Colindale, the temperature in the shop was fine - probably cooler than in the old place, where there was a south-facing glass front for the perfect "greenhouse effect".
All the best

Hi Rowan
I was thinking more of the convenience of the "Get off Tube, walk up steps, go to shop, walk down steps, get back on Tube" of the old shop.
Still the RAF Museum is still free, so I'll have to go there more often too
All the best
