Once again, I'm speachless... Can't wait to see more progress pics on this one. From what I can see you have allready used more styrene than all of my kits put together.

This is simply amazing and an unusual build...well maybe not for you

.
Do you happen to have an overview image of what you are building? I can't quite put the two images together into the bigger picture.

Since Steve has buried himself under a huge pile of styrene scratchbuilding tiny white parts this may help in explaining what he is making:

Thanks that helps alot. But of course it raises more questions. Is this going to be mounted on a HEMTT chassis as it kind of looks like it is in the first picture or is it to be left freestanding? Also are the hinges left to be freely moving so it could, say, be taken off and put back on as seen fit? And will this be part of a dio?
Thanks for putting up with my 20 questions (or 4 so far

)

Hisham --now you got me thinking

----this is not meant to frighten .
If people are being distracted by the post , pics not clear or dont under stand when viewing ......then just ask and I will try to answer....many look but dont ask......
The only person who should get frightened , dismayed ,down -hearted ,disillusioned or loose interest.....is ME !------ :-) :-) :-)
If I thought that my scratch -building was preventing others from trying it because it looks difficult --which it is NOT --- then I will have to remove it all....

Steve, please don't take what I said so seriously. Actually, seeing work like yours has the exact opposit effect of fear or dismay on me. It actually makes me want to scratch anything... even if only a square box .. that actually looks square.
I always love seeing the work of talented scratchbuilders like yourself. Keep the inspiration coming.

Just curious, do you have plans with dimensions for making the parts? Or how exactly do you know what everything looks like and how big to make it?

Day 6
Answers ....Tim,
Sizes --what sizes?? :-) :-) ...I normally have only pic refs for most of my builds --dimensions and plans are a rare bonus . This one scaled fron 3 out-line drawings -- a few o/a sizes --a few exploded views from a T-M ,the pics by Don Busac(grateful)and some pics gleaned on-line
A bit of licence has to be used as some parts would be impossible to make (working)-like hydraulics --but I try to be as accurate as I can ..+ - 0.5mm is acceptable --that is sometimes not fine enough --so its a sand-to -fit ..Chassi is like that at mo,..sanding for 2 hrs and still not sliding
You can always p-m or e-m for further :-) consultations :-) :-)
BTW like your stuff--
Now a few pics ---hard day --cutting lots --building little --get many days like this ---do you???

Work area
EDITED
Lots of chopping ---not much to show --all beams are made(8)...apart from connection units

--1hrs ------

6 hrs>>>>Run Total =31hrs
