Yeah, impressive it ain't - well, not if you're looking for a straight up model show.

Where did they all go..?

Perhaps we could petition the organisers to change the name to Hobby-X..?

ACAV, my bet is that if more model related groups wanted to be involved, they would be granted space, which, I should add, is free to non commercial exhibitors. So I think the blame rests squarely on the modelling groups that can't be fagged attending; mind you,it's a big ask to give up a long weekend to be at the show.
Neville

Edit
What groups do you guys think should have been involved that are not?
AMPS is the main one I can think of; any others?

Fair enough, tankduel - trouble is, I can't think of any Auckland based modelling groups...

Anybody want to start one..?

ACAV , I dont get it, there's IPMS, AMPS and RCTC in Auckland. Do you think another modelling group in Auckland is warranted?

I was speaking in jest, Nev.

Truth is, I'm not much of one for joining the sorts of clubs that would have someone like me for a member (thanks to Groucho Marx for that one, and, yes, it was also a jest...)

I've been to one IMPS meeting in the past year, not sure if I want to rejoin them, it's all planes and ships from what I could see.

RC stuff isn't my bag either.

What's AMPS?

OK I'll lighten up ACAV,heh!
AMPS is a breakaway group from IPMS which concentrates on Armor modeling. I think it stands for Armor Modelling Preservation Society.
I think there are some Amps members here. Here's the website http://ampsnz.hobbyvista.com/

Hi

Took my boys along to the Model X they really enjoyed it all.

The highlight for them was the RCTC remote control stand. My boys all want one for their birthdays as does Dad. To Tankduel well done great stand definitely worth the admission alone. Wea ll enjoyed it.

I enjoyed the IPMS stand and the 10% discount at Merv Smith Hobbies on military kits in fact all plastic kits.

Regards

Sean
