You'll be where?

My crystal ball is away being calibrated at the moment, perhaps you could share some places/timings etc?

If you've got your internet pointed at Armorama, then it's reasonable to assume you have the sophistcation to also point it at Google.

Entering the phrase 'model x' in the search window, gets you http://www.model-x.org.nz/ which is but a mere mouse click away.

Now having done that for you, is there anything else you'd like?
Clothes picked up? Washing done? Bum wiped..?

And if you've got the time to reply, you could be less of an a***hole about it.

Having never been to this before, does anyone have any comments on how its been like in previous years?

The Gallery seems to show everything but model kitsets, in particular 1:35 scale military kits. Have they had this in previous years?

Good luck on your entry Tankduel.

Based on my experience last year, there's usually diddly squat of interest to a 'serious' modeller.

Lots of model trains, dolls houses, diecasts, teddy bears, a few book dealers (all model trains!), a couple of second hand rummage tables...

A complete train set made of Lego - hurrah...

One guy had a load of Custom Dioramics sets he was selling, but he had nothing I needed - did ask him to get in touch when he restocked but he never did.

Found one guy doing custom decals for trains - took his details, but he wasn't on email and the piece of paper became kipple-ised.

Bought a set of Dragon Green Berets for five bucks though so it wasn't all bad.

You pay your money and you make your choice, but it's a bit rich calling the show Model-X, when there are toff all models there.

EuroMilitaire it ain't.

Hi Matt

Please dont worry its not really a modelling show per se. Its a hobby expo more than anything. The predominant participant are railway people and a whole lot of hobbies woodturning, needlepoint etc. IPMS usually have a presence there promoting the modelling hobby.

There is no modelling show or contest as such.

I will go along purely for the benefit of my young sons as opposed to myself.

Before you say it yes the IPMS Nationals are in Auckland later this year. However where was it hosted last year? (Purely tongue in cheek)

In all seriousness I am glad the shows are still around the way LHS are slowing disappearing the shows/contests may be one of the last bastions of stimulation/interest for the hobby.

Regards

Sean

Hi Guys
I have booked a 6x6 metre space (4 single stands together) which I will use to set up a diorama to drive the RC tanks around on for people to gawk at, and hopefully we can increase our club membership through this exposure.
ACAV and Phil, come along and I'll let you guys duel it out with 2 combat system equipped tanks, hehe
I'm working on a 1/16th RC SU85 at the moment, should be ready for Model-x .

Hi

Took my boys along to the Model X they really enjoyed it all.

The highlight for them was the RCTC remote control stand. My boys all want one for their birthdays as does Dad.

To Tankduel well done great stand definitely worth the admission alone. We all enjoyed it and the effort you had put in was clearly evident. I loved those Stukas hanging from the ceiling it took me back to my youth.

Regards

Sean
