Just a reminder the show airs a week from today, May 1-4th. They have updated the website with more information. Fire up the TIVO or DVR,

Shaun

SWMBO loves those shows so we'll both have reason to watch!

Big bump on this because it starts TONIGHT .

I've met Anders several times in person and he's a fine young man. I'm curious how his horse skills (yes, he has some) and his modeling skills (you never know) will serve him on the range.

So,
What did everyone think? First couple hours could have moved a bit faster.
Why is it on all the PBS "House" shows, Colonial, Frontier, Manor, etc. the people that get put charge immediately turn into go a huge power trip. Mrs Cooke needs a Texas style adjustment.
Oh, and watching the previews for tonight's episode it seems to me that Mr. C may have let the wrong person go.

Since I only caught parts of it, getting ready for work, I will not pass judgment yet.....
Hopefully I'll be able to catch a little more tonight.

I got to watch the first hour only last night. My wife and I like these shows a lot but there's one thing I don't understand. Why do people that have no intentions of living up to the conditions of the times even bother to apply to be on them? Seems like there's always a couple people that want to correct the thinking of the times to match todays standards. In this case, there's the woman that wants to be a ranch hand and ride around with the cowboys. I'm not saying that she couldn't handle it or that she shouldn't be allowed in modern times just because she's a woman. It's just that in that time period it wasn't the norm and it's not what she signed on for. I thought the whole purpose was to try to replicate the times as closely as possible.
In Anders' favor, he didn't get much face time in the first hour because he seemed to get into the spirit of the project and not be a pain in the a$$.
Just my 2 cents worth
I'm taping the show so that I can watch it all at my convenience. But it was hard not to turn to it during commercial breaks on "24" last night
Good going Anders. You're doing us all proud.

Yeah Mel, It is a good thing some of those people weren't on a show called "Admiral Nelson House" or there would have been some serious flogging going on. It seems to me the producers always pick people like that just to get the conflicts going. They had an atheist (not that there is anything wrong with that of course) on "Colonial House" iirc and the buckled shoes hit the Puritanical fan when they had religious services all day on Sunday, which was historically accurate.

My feelings exactly, Craig. I have a feeling he might end up being the best cowboy of the bunch -- he does his work and pretty much keeps his mouth shut.

Looking at the updates on the series website, it looks like our favorite cowboy is going to speak up about the quality of the food ...

And has anyone else noticed how paranoid the ranch "owner" is about the cowboys being around his daughters? What a putz.

Fantastic to hear it's finally gone to air.
We wont be getting it here, but i did enjoy seeing Anders face all over the website, and watching his audition tape.
Good stuff mate.

Well, the ranch was a failure.......
And everyone rode off into the sunset..........
shame they had such dis-harmory, they needed to mail the findings to everyone.

Guess the Ranch owner should have let his wife keep the books, like grandma did..... and got his lazy ass daughters to take better care of the garden, and pick up the horse crap.

Usualy with these PBS shows the "folks" get over their issues - not here through. Not sure what it was - the Cooks, Nacho, the cowboys - Gawd Almighty - sure glad no one had a shootin' iron with them. What a colllective failure....
