Welcome Skuka
So far all of the advice Ive seen is great . I brush paint all the time , spraying
is a rare exception for me. Ive most of the commerical paints at least the water
based anyhow. There are some things that I can add here to help. lines in
your paint is from a couple of things.
 1. different brushs for different things use a very soft brisle brush when finishing
a surface coat .If you have a large area to cover use a wider brush.
  2. When brushing you need something to help with the paint flow. Add
one drop of Joy or Dawn dish washing liquid to your paint one drop
per bottle. Stir this well dont shake it will foam up on you.
This slows the drying process slightly and allows the paint to
flow much better.( this will mixture will not work in a airbrush)
    3. Pick the proper color primer for the color of paint you are using
ie dark primer for dark colors light colors for light paints
As with anything practice makes perfect , which ever method you chose
          it takes time
          Good Luck

I never got on with an airbrush so all the models in my msn album are totally handpainted. The only models that are primed first are resin or metal which are sprayed with car spray primer. Tamiya acrylic paints will brush on with no problems so long as the base ( bare plastic?) is grease free. Drybrushing is carried out with enamels as acrylics dry too fast.

Hi all,
I was just sanding the model and i think i sanded too hard and part of the forward sloping armor of the panther caved in . Is there anyway to repair the damage?

Fill the scratch with putty let it dry for a half an hour then sand it with sandingpaper with a very fine grid
