Thanks guys.
Anti glare panels are on.
Just touched the paint on the cowling(acrylic not alclad) and it left a fingerprint so Im going to give everything a coat of Klear next to protect it before I decal.
Started the undercarriage which is looking very nice after a wash.

Love the Alclad and looking forward to doing some more NMF subjects, but no plans to branch out into jets at present, although a Lightning is very temping

Thanks Mal.
A question for you with reference to your nmf P47.
I want to protect the antiglare panel, and also the cowling is going to have a decal on it so I will be giving it a coat of Klear.
Obviously Im going to loose some of the matt finish,so the question is,how do you a think a finishing coat of satin varnish would work.
Only other alternative I can think of will be a reverse mask and mattvarnish the antiglare areas only.
Any thoughts?

Hi all.
Decals are on.
Big booboo though.I masked the antiglare panel way too low on the cowling.
While trying to rectify this part of the cowling decal came away,(despite a couple of coats of Klear ?)
Problem solved though.
I had already decided to build this kit again with the "checkerboard" scheme and this will give me a spare set of cowling decals for this one,so I can strip and repaint this cowling.
Heres the pics.

Thats all the progress on this for the next couple of months as Im off on tour tomorrow for 7 weeks but I'll be online most days to make sure your all playing nicely

EDIT.After hearing my decal dilema Newtothegame has found the decals in his spares box that I was forced to trash while stripping the cowling and is posting them over from the USA. Just goes to show the extent of people on this sites generosity and comunal spirit!

Home Sweet Home,(for a week anyway)
Time to see if I can finally get this finished.
The cowling has been stripped back ready to try again, and the undercarriage is together and test fitted.
The Jug has got its wheels

Hopefully I can get it finished before I go back to work in a week.

that alclad looks the buisness nigel, i have a jar of aluminium but only ever used a small amount on a dinky restoration, after seeing what your p 47 has turned out like and andy's f 86 i ought to find a kit to use mine on....
something with two wings, from between the wars, have'nt i got an old matchbox gladiator kit knocking around..........

Almost done.
The cowlings ready for Alclad and decalling, the props getting there, and then its just a matter of adding the last few bits and pieces.
This is the first canopy Ive masked with Parafilm M and I cant see me using anything else in future.Wonderfull stuff, every home should have a roll.
Heres how the Jug stands at present.

Next photos will be of the finished project.Should be done in a day or so.
