Has this happened to anyone else???

I placed an ad on a pet related site (PETFINDERS) to sell my son's bearded dragon. To date I have received:

2 job offers from the UK. (Not really offers - rather acting as a go-between for transactions, all I need to do is to provide banking information)

3 e-mails responses to the ad so pooly written as to raise concern - but all asking for banking info - "too deposit the funds faster".

Last, but not least - the classic - "I am an official of the Ivory Coast and have millions of $$$ hidden and all I need is a person (sucker) for fork over their banking info and you can get RICH.

NOT ONE "REAL" RESPONSE TO THE ACTUAL AD

I set my e-mail to block the senders from future e-mail and set up some blockers to prevent further crud.

REALLY FROSTS ME.

you should never reply as this confirms that your email is active and sets you up as a target for even more junk and even trojan virus attachments

.....unless you have a hotmail account to deliberatly wind these idiots up! check out a site called 419eater.com where these scammers get a taste of their own medicine, in fact even sending their "victims" cash instead of the other way round (money which was then sent to local charities)

If I remember correctly it’s a type of lizard.

I usually don’t get to many emails from these guys (well except in certain accounts where I want to. They really can be fun to play with)

Just delete them and move on.
You also may want to set up a 2nd email address to use for ads so no one send scams to your privet email.

I have been checking that site out for the last hour or so.

I havn't laughed this hard in a longtime! My god I hope all that stuff is true cause its gold! Some of these guys are brilliant.

I would love to do something like this but I am not sure I could keep the jig up that long.

Thanks for showing us that site.
