Like most of the newbie posts I've read, I've been doing a bit of recon round here for a month or so.

The are 2 main reasons I joined, firstly the responses to the forum posts. They generally appear to be constructive or at least interesting and open to personnel preference/opinion. The other is the campaigns.

I really like the idea of the campaigns and when I saw the "Show Ya Teeth" and "Wild Weasel" titles, I immediately flashed back to an idea I had about a year ago of building a 1/72 F-4G/F-4E Hunter/Killer pair. Shark Mouth on Euro 1 camo. Being in the campaign, I may actually get it done.

Skill: Beginner. I built a number of models as a kid, in the twist-off-the-sprue-slap-on-some-glue-splash-on-some-paint manner and then get disappointed because it looked nothing like the competition finished box art. Have been checking the hobby mags, this and other websites and am keen to start trying some of the intermediate to advance techniques. At the moment, I'm practising my airbrushing on some cheapies and doing a little bit of scratchbuilt detailling.

Interests: Anything... Mostly aircraft. !/72 currently due to space concerns but 1/48 would be my preference. I have aspirations of building ships, armour (mostly small scale), figures, dioramas.

Permission granted - as long as your not planning on joining the mile high club....

Good to have you on Armorama D.

(I work with this guy - he's one cubicle away - actually I think that's within range of a R/C tank :-) )

Hi everyone

Thanks for the welcome. In response to a couple of the questions...
Honeycut - I'm a city boy about a 20 min bus ride from the Sydney CBD

Skipper - I have a 1/700 HMS Ark Royal(modern) in the stash ( along with a 1/72 model for each of its squadrons from when it toured here in '88) for a display that I intend doing at some point. Was thinking about doing the Illustrious as a warm up. Been drooling over the RN Modern PE set (white ensign?) for months.

And Andy - any projectiles come over the partition and I'm not adverse to breaking out the old Master's of the Universe Battle Ram that has seen the end of many an unwary Legoman.

Cheers
Wiz
