I always thought someone in Hollywood would do a remake of this all time favorite funny war movie, specialy now with new resources for more accurate WW2 vehicles and equipment thru high tech props and special effects immagery, maybe they can finaly make a real Tiger 1 run after tanker Oddballs Sherman :-)
So hows about these new actors to play the characters:
Clint Eastwoods "Sgt Kelly"= Benjamin Bratt or Brad Pitt
Telly Savalas's "Big Joe"= Tom Siezmore or Vin Diesel (cause hes a bald guy!)
Donald Sutherlands "Oddball"= Kiefer Sutherland (duh!)
Don Rickles "Crapgame" = James Gandolfini
Carol Connors "Gen Colt"= Steve Martin
So who whould your pick be?

Rei
Great choices as far as actors go I really don't think it should be remade Now if they could actually get some real Tigers or even Panthers then maybe

To be honest I don't think a remake would be on my list. I think they should come up with another movie along the same lines.

Exactly !!! If you don't have Clint, you have to drop the G,B&U music during the stand-off ... The point of this movie wasn't the equipment it was the situations, the characters, and the selection of actors who made 'em all work ...

I'm with shermies, a remake would be cap in comparison. Nothing but digital restoration could improve upon the original.

The mere mention of remaking Kellys Heroes is communism. The fact that those actors listed as the original actors replacements is cause for death!

Improve something thats perfect - impossible !
:-)
It was funny, not due to gear but due to the actors - btw. they at least tried to make it look like a tiger - an a lot of the other gear - trucks, bikes etc. looks real.

Kelly's Heroes is very much a film of its time and a remake would be sacrilege Like remaking The Italian Job really (coincidentally by the same scriptwriter).

NNOOOOO!!!! Leave it alone. Tell me one remake that was better than the original. They'd probably put Steve (I used to be funny) Martin in it and change the ending to them giving the gold away to the poor French towns people. In a way Three Kings was a sort of remake of Kelly's Heroes anyway
