Nice photos Brandon! You should submit these photos for the Modern Armor Campaign.

I dont think yahoo allows remote linking of those images. You may be better off uploading them to the gallery here on armorama and then linking it to that.

best way to view them is to right mouse click on the red crosses, go to properties and copy the image url on another browser window.

I too only see the red crosses within this thread.

Hi Brandon,

That's really a nice build. How did you do the chipped paints? Did you used Mr surfacer?

Hi Dan,

I first sprayed Mr surfacer 500 on the hull n turret to simulate the anti-slip, followed by a dark green base.

Next i applied the masking solution at areas where there would be the highest wear and tear. After which i sprayed the characteristic desert yellow for British modern armor over the entire tank.

After that den i peeled off the areas where the masking solution was, and there is the paint chipped areas...

Cheers...

Hi there Brandon... very nice build indeed! The paint chips look great too. May I ask, what kit is it?

There's another way of making paint chips, and that is to use a sponge, dip it with paint (not too much) and lightly dab it over areas where paint chipping on tanks usually can be found.

I learnt that from Coca (one of our fellow Singaporean), through his post in the Armor Forums.

Hmmm,

was it difficult to clean the air brush after Mr Surfacer? I read that technique from Tamiya's mag as well but was a bit reluctant to try, fearing the demise of my air brush...

I certainly wouldnt put Mr Surfacer through the airbrush. A manual application would definitely be the safest.

Hi Dan,

I did not use mr Surfacer in my airbrush. I used it directly from the air can, but held it at a distance such that it dried partially before landing on the model, creating the anti slip surface.

Cheers..
