Hi last update can be found here....
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/66811&page=1 This is now ready for a clear gloss coat and the addition of washes, weathering etc. I decided to try making the canvas tilt cover out of chocolate foil wrapping for a change just to see how it turned out. I am happy with the result but care had to be taken when working it because it is so thin.
The load consists of a Verlinden PE/resin box out of a PE set and some resin Drums from Arms-Modelit here in Australia.
Only thing left to do are the windscreen wipers which I will do just before the final dustinf once the masking tape is off the windscreen.
All comments welcomed.

more pictures of the whole build can be seen here....

Hi Cliff. That chocolate foil looks good on the roof, but the rolled-up sides look a little 'flat', otherwise this is another great build. Those headlights really make a huge difference too.

unfortunately with the handling the fragile nature of the foil becomes obvious, hense the 'flat' rolled up sides. I may try and put a rod down the rolls but then again I remember from my army days lots of canvas sides that rolled flat as well. We will see because at this stage I sure do not want to damage the foil.
I guess in hindsight what I should have done was to leave a short piece of plastic rod in there to add support to the roll.
I also agree with you on the headlight lenses. They certainly make the headlights look realistic.

Bob it told you in the earlier thread but they are an 'M V Products' realistic light lenses for models.
These are availiable in different sizes and you just drill out the headlight to the right size and glue them in. GrumpyOldMan (Dave) sent me a few packets of them for Christmas.
Thanks for the comments guys I appreciate them.

Excellent job. Makes you wonder why we spend so much on resin when all you need is some plastic sheet and a chocolate wrapper... oh, and the impressive scratch building talent of Cliff off course.

I concur: " More, more.."
Going back to check out the tipper again..
Cheers

Cliff,
Without casting aspersions on a beautifuil build, I think this is a No11 cab, not a No 12. The No 12 had the "alligator" hood (or bonnet) that hinged at the back like a normal car hood. The No 11 was first and had just a small access panel in the top of the hood. I think I see that panel and no hinges in your photos.
Whattaya think?

Paul if you read the other earlier thread you would by now realise that it is in fact a number 11 cab F60L and that the title is in fact a spelling mistake on my part and as the edit function only allows me to edit the main text and not the title it has to remain that way.
I am also well aware of the differences in the CMP models but thanks for reminding me.
Cheers
Cliff
PS> it also has no vents (square louvre = Ford, round = Chev) either side of the grill which also denotes it as an early #11 cab. Later 11 cabs and the #12 cabs all had these vents.

Bob sorry I live in Australia not the US and I have yet to find a shop that has them here so I have to leave this question up to the US folk. I do believe however that they are Model Railway accessories so maybe this section in your local hobby shop. That is unless your local hobby shop is 200 K away like mine. LOL

Superb build! I was looking over the pics of the in process, and thinking how good it would look with the open cab in the desert. Just day dreaming though, well done.
I found a nifty feature on the forums called HIDE USER.
I was going to try it on myself and go stealth, but it only works on other users.

Bob, I pick them up at the local hobby shop, they are MV lenses. They come in various sizes, and colors also. They are a Model Railroading Product, but the newer packages now list 1/35 scale equivalents, for various size 1/35 scale lights.

Because the top half of the cab back and the roof were only bolted on some units did remove them for 'air conditioning' reasons :-) .
I have redone the 'flat' looking rolled canvas on the rear canvas tilt and will gloss coat it shortly in readyness to wash and weather it.
Thanks for the comments

Ola Cliff
Well after the Tipper you manage to show us another brilliant model. I Can only see your usual good standard and eye of detail. It is projects like this that inspire me to eventually tackle the Vacu Form Opel Blitz Omnibus I got this week and of which I have to scratch like 90% of the vehicle except the body.
Brilliant. I also like the Aussie Sunshields on the windscreen :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Great Job... Now if I could persuade you to make a groundwork for it

Brilliant conversion Cliff.
thats the first 11 cab I have seen done. Did you use an available set of plans or by following photos?
I concur on putting your truck on a base!
