Hola!

Im looking for a putty that you can brush on and make a textured surface smooth. Is there such a thing? Or is there any putty available that can be altered to be used this way?

Hi Anders,
I was also in need of such a putty the other day and this is how I did it.

I use the Tamiya Putty (tube).

I put a blob of it in the lid of a film-container and ad a few drops of nail polisch remover (whitout acetone) to it, mix it and I have a painteble mixture.
Depending on the amount of nail polisch remover you can control the thicknes of the putty.
Please, use a old paintbrush, because it almost impossible to clean it up well.

For my project I needed to make a lot of T and Y-connectors and I filled the gaps this way (see picture).

The only drawback is that, because of the nail polisch remover, the putty shrinks more, so you have to put several coats on it, but as a bonus there is almost no more sanding needed.

Have fun

I use a CAD system (you can compare it to AutoCad2000) for my work (when I work ) and I have a registerd copy of it at home.

normaly I design houses wit it but it works also for making me a 3D scale drawing of my projects.

I don't detail it as much as my work, but it helps me to get a idea of wat is possible and wat is not.

Here is another one of my current project (a dummy Sherman tank)
