Cris,
what do you mean by "to make factories" ? If you want metal plated walls, I suggest you use plastic sheeting. There's specially undulated wave patterns out there in hobby retail stores. But you can also try undulated cardboard. With the richt touch of paint (metal and rust), you can achieve wonders !

I found a pretty good device on making corregated sheet metal. I found it in a arts and crafts store
it`s a small machine where two cogs are turning and the paper goes through it so it gets this corregated sheetmetal look
I made a quick picture in Flash to illustrate it
1. Shows the machine the dark part in the middle is where the paper goes through the cogs
2. just turn the thing on the right

3. diagram of the paper that goes through the cogs to see how that functions

I`ve used this machine so often and when you have nothing to do you can make meters and meters of corregated sheet metal
try different varieties of paper and so on I also believe that they sell them with different sizes of cogs

I don`t know what the price of it is but believe me it`s certainly worth it

hope this helped you out

Wow Robert, what an ingenious little device. I didn't know that existed. Where did you find it ? In a model shop or does it have nothing to do with modeling ?

GF

My grandmother makes greeting cards and she had the device at home I asked her where you can get it and she told me that it`s available in those arts and crafts hobby shops where you can buy beads card making things and more
and believe me this is one direct hit on modeling

I would definitely do that GF
This is it !!
No This is what you WANT!!
OR EVEN THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED
YOU CAN`T LIVE WITHOUT THIS THING
IF YOU DON`T BUY THIS THING YOU WILL BE KIDNAPPED BY ALIENS
AND THEN YOU WILL BE DROPPED ON A VERY DESOLATED PLANET WHERE THEY NEVER HAVE HEARD OF MODELING. THERE IS NO INTERNET CONNECTION AND THERE IS EVEN NO STUFF TO SCRATCHBUILT
AND THEN THE DEVI........

Ahemm

just buy it

I have found that many craft shops carry 8-1/2 x 11 inch sheets of corrugated paper, with the kringle effect on one side, and a smooth texture on the other. I use this to create corregated metal finishes frequently. Take a look at the little "lean to" I built in the photo below .. you can't see it REALLY well, but you get the idea if you look carefully at the edge of the silver metal "sheet" in the far left of the photo.

Keith

If you experiment with different sorts of paper (i.e. textured paper/cardboard)
you get the same effect if you look at the corregated sheet metal in the "New Albums New Pics" topic and click on the link "SHUT UP AND WALK" there lays a piece of corregated sheet metal in the old shed ruin wich is made from textured paper and my "device"

this is easier

the corregated metal sheet lays a bit to the left and is a little flattened out because of the rubble that lies on top of it
I made of quite thick textured paper and my device

the whole album can be viewed under this link. SHUT UP AND WALK

Here is a better picture of the "corregated tin" lean-to from the Russian Dio... this is the pre-fab paper I bought at Michaels...

And here is another example in larger scale... this entire hanger is made of the correguated paper I mentioned above, but I used larger sheets to create the hanger. Almost everything in this dio except the planes is either scratchbuilt or heavily modified.

The entire series can be viewed in the GALLERY--DIORAMAS--AIRCRAFT--DALLAS BLONDE folder.
