Got my ballot from Elections Canada yesterday. Logged on to their web site to see who's running in my designated riding and guess what???? There are no candidates!!!!! Guess that means I can vote for Mickey Mouse

At least I don't have to put up with them knocking on my door looking for my vote.

well im still to young to vote... but all i can say is that IMHO it wouldnt change much. Between a speratist party, a money robing party, and two of them who seem a little out of the picutre in my opinion.... seems like mickey mouse is one's best bet

I say "Down with all Government". They all lie, cheat and steal from us. They all spend our money wrecklessly and then ask us to foot the bill. I dont know any job that get pay raises of $10000 when they decide to vote on it.

Mehhhh. Down with them all I say.

I agree, it gets harder and harder to choose the more I see the buggers in action. I don't believe the promises towards military spending because both likely candidates have been screwing us since the 50's.
At least Layton has a nice moustache.

Those are the political views that I am willing to share on a modellers' website!

After having spent billions on the gun control program, Martin and his liberal buddies feel handguns should be prohibited to reduce violance. he also wishes to hire some 250 rcmp's devoted to the task and some boreder folks also... Guess who will pay

Believing That the 35 year old father who owns a restricted firearms permit will commit shoot out is a little excentric althought it could happen. but then again, arent the laws strict enougth for handguns the way they are? How does he figure to eliminate the millions of handguns in the country? hte ones used in shoot outs are obtained by teens from the blakc market, not the local gunsmith...

Personaly i believe this desision is absurb and just makes Canadians realize how much BS the liberals can say.

Ohhh, by any chance, how many think Parts of hte funds used for this "program" will end up in some of hte liberals pockets to pay a 500$ dinner to organize the talk or Maybe this will enable Martins kids to go to University in the states. Isnt it easier to attend Harvard when your dads a PM and A country paid for your study's?

Sorry for the rant but ever since the gomery stuff going on im quit anti-liberal .jsut my opinion and it might not be the right on either.

I hate our politicians. If they're not kissing babies, then they're trying to steal their candy.

Maybe get someone who gives a crap about the military and doesn't promise, promise, promise and then pull it away because of an election. Guess what we need this stuff NOW! Or you have Layton who is to snivelly to have be in Afganistan, guess what, this is the ARMY, let us do our job. I think Heinlen had it right, do service to get into politics! I should stop ranting....it's almost Christmas.......

Mike, im a french quebecer... So i can't be to blame for them being re-elected every darn year!

There doing such a great job in the quebec provice that we've had only 3 full weeks of school since august 31st.

Althought im a french quebecer im not realy for the seperation. So the federal elections im not worried off... but the provincial one's are scary.. especialy with the results of hte last referendum and the strong anti-liberal feeling felt by Quebecers.

Let's face it, all politicians are crooks in one way or another. They may go to Ottawa with the best ideals at first but get caught up in the crap that is hanging around there. Whether it's Liberal, Conservative (tho really to me the Reform), NDP or Bloq once they have their fingers in our wallets, we're screwed!
As for the military getting nothing, it's the public's fault that we let the politicians do what they have done for the last 45 years. It's the same for EVERYTHING that has happened in our country for the last 45 years, good or bad. WE are the ones who have put those idiots in power, no matter what party they are from, and it's time that WE take back the power and make sure that our voices are listened to. The only way to do that is to vote. IF YOU DON'T VOTE, YOU HAVE NO REASON TO COMPLAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well this election is getting interesting.

The Liberals had better hope they can get good health care. Gonna need it to remove all those feet they have shoved down their mouths.

Kind of funny and sad to watch Martin fall apart. He is looking pretty awful these days.

That is long overdue.... AKA The revolving door to freedom and more money through crime....

Personally, the second the Liberals made the claim that they will ban all handguns, they lost what credibility they had left.. Take a look at the gun registry.. Its a program that has inflated to mosterous proportions. It was supposed to take the guns out of the hands of criminals.. It worked well didnt it.. So with this statment as always, it will be the law abiding citizen that takes the heat.. OK, my rants over... :-) :-) :-) I second Mickeys nomination for pres..er.... Prime Minister...

I have to agree Dave. Banning handguns totally blew any chace in hell of me voting for Martin.(Not that there was chance to begin with) Its not that I am a gun lover or anything its just so typical of the Liberals. They get these great plans that in the end really do nothing to solve the problems.

Whats really gotten me ticked off is the attack ads that they brought out this week. The one that says Harper will put soldiers on the streets

What a slap in the face to the military in this country! It makes them sound like a bunch of thugs that belong to some banana republic tinpot dictator.

I think its a pretty telling election when my wife who tends to lean to the Liberal side will not even vote for them cause they disgust her.

Jeff, i couldn't agree more about the gun issue and the ads.
But what totaly pissed me off about the scandel is pretty simple. This guy steels us by 3 million he SAYS(lickely to be more...) then pays half back and runs away with the rest? These guys arn't stupid at all and figured a way to get away with it before they stole us. Also, if i go rob a bank i go to jail and loose ALL the stolen money!
Quebec is voting strongly for the bloc this year according the last polls i saw and im not suprised the the bloc ads of an old lady saying" it takes someone to remember the scandel"(translated).
Personaly i find it to bad when they declare quebec as being french, espesialy the pq because if they'd go for the idea of a seperated and united quebec, they'd get many more votes. Not that i agree to seperating because i find it quit scary...

rotten crooks....

Exercised my duty to vote yesterday. I won't tell you who I voted for, but you can probably guess by looking at my profile.

In an ideal world, we would make our ballot choice based on the platform of the parties, and in an ideal world, we would have the faith that those politicians chosen, would have the integrity and ethics to govern based on their promises..... Unfortunately we don't live in this world. Every single add I come accross either on print media or TV and radio, is one of blame, and not one is based on platforms. I'm sick and tired of the Liberals entrenched 'entitlement' attitude, one which has stolen millions of dollars from us, the tax payers, and mispent countless other millions. I will not vote for them, but say what you will about these 'thieves' they have given us 12 years of economic growth.

So,.. what are my options, vote for Harper and his 'Conservatives',...... a party that depending on whom you listen to, will either fix all of our problems, or become one that will make Mike Harris look like a socialist.,.... or possibly go to the other extreme, vote for Layton, and have social programs up the wazoo, and a debt to match!

I'm your typical Canadian, one whose ideals fall straight down the middle, and unfortunately,... I do not have a voice speaking for me on this election.....

undecided and angry

My wife and I voted on Monday. We wanted to make sure our votes were cast just in case the little one made an early appearance.

I am willing to give Harper a chance. I really don't believe all the scare mongering thats being said about him. The liberals scare me more then anything.

Damn liberals called me the other night to see if they could count on my support.

Do other parties do this?? Or are they that scared that they are telemarketing for votes?
