Ola Guys and gals.
The regulars might have noticed that I haven`t post that much last weeks here in my favourite place in the world. Well reason for that is my former job and now a real job.
3 weeks ago I finally had the luck to come back for three days of testing at a design studio not that far from where I live. The test week of 3 days became a week. and finally the words came out and they cancelled the other 2 guys who were also hunting for the job. Now I`m sitting there for 3 weeks and I`m enjoying every minute of it. Yes there is a lot to learn for me but that I`m willing to do. With the Job I even got a title behind the name.. My job prescription says I`m a Junior Art Director... In normal language you are an Artist with a regular salary. And that is exactly what I like.
This is finally some good news certainly after 10 months of doing everything except what I studied for. From Vegetable cutter and packer for the biggest supermarket concern here to Telemarketeer....(being Annoying and getting payed for that (the job mayorly sucked(that is why I quited after 1,5 week because I was in for killing someone) and last months I have worked at a farmer in the Flowerbulbs (Tulips, Irisses, Lillies) In the mean time I have send out a tremendous amount of letters to all sorts of companies... Wher I now am was Letter 83 and finally it has paid off.
At the moment that I type this I don`t really know why I`m typing it.... I think it is like telling it to people I really regard as good friends. Every time I come here I almost get the idea of sharing a story to friends in my local bar every friday. It is the free and friendly atmosphere that will probably tell the tale. I know for sure that I`m not the only one thinking like this. I have seen some good stories also some sad one like from Mother 2 times bad news in a row. Condoleances my friend although we don`t talk that often. The passing away of a member and the thoughts and prayers that followed. The fire that completely ate up the modelling room of a Member (Costas) the quick build up of the same modeling room. The way every time somebody has his/her birthday is congratulated. The ways sorrows are shared when something bad happens to a model/car/relative. The way the law of Meadows is used every time somebody has something stupid and almost everybody will ensure that they have had the same but worse then you did and that it is not all that bad.
I love the way people are getting criticisms here. It is not the regular: " Man you are wrong on that point" I know sometimes it is a bit too soft. But in the end no one is a real specialist and nobody does everything perfect. Besides the fantastic " Oooooooh Nice model" lately I see an increasing number of really good constructive comments which helps the beginnng modeler a lot more on their way to get better and better. Also the more skilled modelers I think will learn new stuff almost every day..... I certainly do, but I`m not really sure in which category I would place myself, I leave that to others.
I think the reason that I share this is because I feel like home here. my second home. Most of you people I have never seen before. A lot I have chatted with. I hope in the future I can even speak with a lot as I have been persuaded to download skype and a headset is coming for Christmas. for those who want... I`m looking forward to it.
Everybody on this site is doing a great job be they visitors, posters, moderators, Editors, content submitters name them. everybody is doing their job. And a good one at that. Better then I do my job here on the forum. I have a couple of jobs I really have to finish but the progress on that is slow. It will probably get a bit better in the not too far future. I can make a promiss on that but would somebody believe me? I don`t know.
above sentence is not to get sympathy it is the truth and completely my own fault.
The fun thing is that I started with the message that I finally had a job and still have and even better something I studied for. and next thing I know is I`m more or less saying thanks to armorama and all the Inhabitants of this small village. Well Village.... we can easily say Armorama grew to a small town or city. A lot of stuff changed around here when I came in with number 777 probably the number of the jester. I mean that in a good way (that the stuff changed that is). with the years I have seen a lot of things happening here. Almost all of them good. a Couple of loosers who tried to troll their way in were carefully handled and put outside the gate. It is one of the problems of getting the biggest in the world I guess. So far everybody handled in a correct and good way. Thanks staff. Thanks everybody. for making the site what it is.
can hear the people on my work tomorrow. How was your evening? " well watching Ajax play against Arsenal. Telling the people at Armorama about my new job... Getting sentimental about the place I spend a good part of the last three years. I guess it is the time of the season..... I`m not even a believer.
Thanks
PS. sorry for the absurd amount of text..... kinda was in a writing mood.

Employment and a paycheck - Gotta Love it.
Congrats on the job - I know you deserve it.
Thanks for sharing the story too. You are right, this is a second home for a lot of us. We do spend a fair share of time here talking/posting etc. It is a very friendly place to be.

OK, now,..... all in unison, raise a mug and chug a
for our latest 'productive' member of society!.... Unfortunately, Robert, it seems that the more $ you make
, the more $ you spend

Robert, I too cherish the camaraderie that exsists here, it only took 10 minutes last night while browsing on a different site, which had posted a series of vulgar exchanges, to realize that Armorama has a great membership. We may not be so called 'experts' , but then again we also lack the stench of aloofness that seems to permeate throughout other sites!

Congrats Robert!
And being a PSV fan I still would support Ajax against ARSEnal... Come to think of it I would rather build a panzer than back ARSEnal in any situation! :-)
Cheers mate

Ola Guys
Thanks for the replies. There were some truely brilliant ones between them. Thanks a lot.. another confirmation of why Armorama is my favourite place to stay.
Oh and Hunnicut..... seeing you are from Down Under I´m kinda curious how you did become PSV fan.... Probably the link lies with Hiddink coaching Australia. Although Ajax is not playing good at the moment in the national competition I would not step away from my Club.... It is still the best club in the world.

Congratulations on the new job, Robert.
Nothing can stop a determine man. Your message is going to be an encouragement to others in similar situation.
I watched the match too although I'm supporting the other side. It becomes a bit of a habit ever since the gunners won their FA cup back in the late 70's. I don't like their crimson shirt. The gold letters and numbers are even worst.
Respect your duties at work and you will earn the respect form your colleagues. It may soon become your third family.
