Armorama now takes a new turn in its ever expanding travels by implementing a new
Female Modelling Forum.
This forum is located on the Armorama IPMS-UK site. Hopefully with this forum, we can give ladies a place to come and discuss their modelling questions and or opinions with other ladies. So all you guys out there....let your wives, girlfriends, daughters, or female friends know that there is a place for them to come and take part in.
Female Modelling Forum Mary

Hi Everybody
I'm giving my 2 cents here hopefully not stiring the hornet's nest.
Why do we need a ladies forum? To me, this hobby is suitable for both sexes. Whether you are male or female, we all encounter the same experiences, topics, and problems in this great hobby.
Wouldn't be better if we all can stay in one big happy forum?

Hi Ladies
Congratulations of this significant milestone.
Don't forgot about the rest of the mainstream forums.
It would a lesser mainstream forum without the contributions from the likes of Angela, Mary , Jenny and from the many other ladies whose names escape me at the moment.

Great stuff on the new forums! I tried to get my missus into modelling and was fairly close to doing so but she pulled out at the last minute. She ended up sewing instead which wasnt too bad.
Will certainly be supporting the forum when i can.

Wildcard...The ladies forum isnt about just model related stuff..In there..ladies will be allowed to voice their opinions on other matters as well..that may be less..appealing...to you guys... :-) :-) :-)
Thanks soo much to the rest for your support. Personally..i would like for the forum to be a place for ladies..non-modelors..to come into and see that this isnt just a hobby that the guys can do..its something that everyone can do..from the youngest to the oldest.

Now Mary, this idea I like very much!
At least in the ladies forum the place won't smell like old socks.

Yes or even worse: "honey no, Shermans didn't have pink camouflage"
Or is that discrimination?
I'll ask Jess but although she's kinda raised with models (her father is a RC builder) it's not her hobby. She respects the fact it's my hobby and that's good enough for me

(and she loves the fact I named my M4A1 after her hehe)

Mary and all the other ladies, good luck with your new forum but please don't forget us poor guys at the main armorama site. We couldn't miss you

My only concern is that all you ladies go there and don't come back
So, I think you should be "obligated to post here at least once a week so we still can keep in touch.

I'm all for measures that will attract and encourage new members to both our hobby and this site. However I do not think that having a particular forum that is for ladies only is the right way to be doing this.
I would like to make it clear that I am NOT a sexist, racist, or any other kind of -ist... However I am not a fan of positive discrimination either. By having a forum where no males are allowed to read or make posts we are segregating members; putting it into a different context, how popular would a forum be that was for males only? Or one for Christians only? Whites only?
This isn't something I'm about to get worked up about and I will happily go along with the majority view, just wanted to let people know my personal opinion on exclusive forums (of any kind).
Lucky I'm posting this from work, I already have my flame-retardant overalls on :-)
