Hi everyone. I've got to say, this is one of the most useful sites I've found for someone who is getting out of wargaming and into some serious scale modelling. I've been painting small scale white metal figures for five or six years, and have just started buying a lot of 1:35 aftermarket parts and kits since I'm an avid WWII history buff. I've been attempting to build models since I was young. I say attempting since I would buy the cheap kits as a kid, and be utterly disappointed when my model looked nothing like the picture on the box. Well, I've tempered those high expectations with age, (Although I''m still only in my late twenties) and now have gotten to a point where I have amasssed enough paint, tools, and miscellaneous stuff to put together some pretty nice models. Not going to win any awards, yet, but I'm working on it!

WWII fan ! Nobody's perfect :-)
Welcome to this great, should say greatest, site. Feel free to show your models, there is no contest spirit here and I'm sure you can share your works to the benefit of other members.

Hi Phil,

Glad you joined , pull up a chair & lets talk plastic .
Keep working on those awards , I find to have made a model , post pics on here & get the acknowledgement of your peers here is as much reward as you need . If people give you pointers , you find that they are doing so with the intent to help , allowing some positive feedback , something you do not get unless you get 1st ,2nd , 3rd in a comp., lets face it its only a judges opinion anyway !
Look forward to seeing your work !
Love Jenny

Hi Phil welcome to the Big A

I can talk from experience that the guys in here are the greatest , never be afraid to ask for help/advice its allways forthcoming.

Ive learnt more in the few months spent on here than yrs and yrs modeling on my own and (well i think ) my projects reflect this

Welcome aboard. Building models is like anything in this world, the more you do it, the better you become. Most judges don't recogonize good kits any way!

Remember, it's hobby, hobby's are fun!

Looking forward to your work!

Welcome fellow WWII fan..

remember its not trying to build as good as someone who has been practicing for 20 years thats important. Its building at the highest level of your persoanal skill level that is..

Some of my first builds are pretty rough compared to where my level is now but i'm still happy with them because at the time I was building as best I could..

and remember we are our own worst critics.

Phil -

Welcome to Armorama. Enjoyed and still enjoy painting up the "Warhammer" figures with my sons and gaming occassionally. Got back into the WWII AFVs and dioramas after many years away. We're all here to help and support, and everyone gets better as a result. Look forward to your sharing experiences,
