Thought i would pop this in for rugby fans, taken from The New Zealand Herald:
New Zealand will host the 2011 World Cup.
South Africa was voted out of the running in the first round of voting this morning and the race was then between New Zealand and Japan.
New Zealand was the outsider, and the announcement in Dublin at 5.40am NZT caused some shock. Some Japanese delegates were said to be in tears.
NZRU chairman Jock Hobbs thanked Prime Minister Helen Clark and the other members of the New Zealand bid team.
He said: "Rugby is very important to us. It is just a very proud day to be a Kiwi."
Cheers,Shay

Well done Kiwi's.
Quite honestly I think Francois Pienaar and the SA contingent were expecting too much. I also think SA will incur huge losses in 2010 with the Football WC... I don't think the country could handle 2 huge events straight after each other...
I must say though... on the street (well in CPT anyway) no-one's too broke up about not getting RWC 2011...

Again, well done NZ

YES i woke up this morning to hear the great news! Apparently the committee was most impressed with the PM and the 2 generations of all blacks presenting!! This is certainly great news for the country!
The Japanese are crying out foul play at the moment but apart from that, its good news all round!
