Well this really depends, where is you tiger? Russia, Normandy, or North Africa? Region makes a BIG difference in what accumulates on a tank.

T4- Welcome to the Big A. David hit it right on the head. It all depends on the area you want your Tiger to have been operating in. I think you will find there are more than enough folks here who can guide you in your search for techniques and methods for weathering. So how about it....where is your Tiger from? Again, welcome aboard. "Q"

The tiger I'm building fought in the Eastern front theatre around the town of Leningrad. For one fact there was much snow and mudd in Russia during the winter. Considering this I assume that the tank would have much rust and mudd around it. Thanks guys for responding.

Don't go overboard on rust, it may look cool but it's very unrealistic. For an eastern front tank in the winter, I would cover the bottom of the tank in a black-brown mud. Try looking at pictures of tanks involved around leningrad. Look at how the mud builds up in the roadwheels, and on the hull, and try to transfer that onto your model.

Easiest way to make mud is MUD get some whiteglue (one used for glueing wood) mix it with water on 50/50% basis and than add plain garden earth (ofc pick some small and fine "dusty earth"). add that mix in fair ammounts on wanted places, when dried (ussually after 1 day) you can additionaly dust it with pastels.

here are 2 examples

For making rust there are various tehniques, i use pigments and pastels mixed with medic alcohol in diferent shades until i get desired effect.

and example for rust

Hope this helps

cheers
