Looks like there is a strong possibility I might be moving to Fresno or Clovis in the near future. Anyone around there and if there are, are there any good hobby shops there?

Well, I kinda met a girl, Brent. We've known each other for a few months and I am starting to think about a future with her. She is in Fresno and so is her family. It might be preliminary but I am just kind of weighing my options at this point and that is one of them.

Like I said its preliminary. It would be several months before I go if I decide to do that.

Closest to you would be Staff Jim himself, Andrew (DrewGimpy) and Rick Cooper. Several others within a couple hours drive - including myself.

The local HobbyTown in that area is good - but the guys who live there would have to chime in with more options...

Rob - you're always welcome around my digs! If/when you get here, let me know, and I'll get you up to the MVTF armor collection so you can look around at the heavy metal there. I helped get the Fresno Armor Modelers Group up there last week for a "tour" and it was a pretty nice day!

The sound of camera shutters clicking was deafening...

You're on. I'll bring some authentic KC BBQ sauce, some ribs, and we'll make a day of it.

BroAbrahms, I know you are a gun shooter/collector of sorts. Don't forget to check the CA and local laws. They are so anti-gun I'm surpised they didn't make Guntruck give up the "gun" in his callsign Guntruck

I wuz gonna buy a special license plate (environmental themed - naturally ) that read "GUNTRUCK" but thought better of it.

I wouldn't want to get stopped every mile I tried to drive down the road...

A bit whipped, eh, Rob?

Can't see why I'd want to leave the Heartland for California, but I suppose love might shade one's view.

Best of luck out there on the Left Coast! Here's wishing you and your lady-love all the best!

BTW, what's she got against moving out here??? You didn't introduce her to Gary O, did you?

Fresno County is going to pay a large portion of her student loan off if she stays here for another year and a half, plus all her family is here, but mine is all spread out. It took a lot of consideration but in the end we decided to live out here. Thanks Jim, Bob, and Carl.

Theres only one Hobby shop around here that I know of. Hobbytown USA on Bullard and Marks. It's pretty sad considering how many modelers are in this area.
They carry a good ammount of kits there but not near enough AM, especially for Amor.

It takes me about 30-45 minutes to get there from the other side of Clovis. It's not fun with you only need one bottle of paint to complete a project.
Good luck with the Move!

Let me tell you that everyone in California is looking to move out of state while everyone elsewhere seems to want to move here! At least in the SF Bay area the housing is so outrageous that any increse in income here is way more than offset by the cost of being here.

You mean paying $800-$900k for a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom house on a 6000square foot lot in Palo Alto isn't your idea of fun? Where's your sense of adventure?

My arch enemy

everytime I put a loan together I never can get the property taxes right because the assesment changes before the loan closes!!
