I got up this morning and looked out side and to my amazement its white.

We got over an inch of snow and she’s still coming down. I was expecting as the sun came up it would go away but I was wrong. As the suns coming up its starting to have a thine layer sit in the driveway.

All the schools in the area even closed. And now the powers starting to flicker.

I really wasn’t expecting this as we haven’t even had a heavy frost yet this year.

Its not a good sign. I’m beginning to believe it really will be a long winter.

Hey, Red...
Since I'm a fellow Keystoner I can relate, man...didn't even have Indian Summer yet in my part of PA...went right from summer to winter! I do remember my grandpa saying that you can't have Indian Summer before Squaw Winter, so maybe there's still hope yet!

Hi, Down here in Southwestern Ohio we just got the slightest hint of snow flakes coming down here and there. I had heard that as this storm system continued eastward it would turn into snow so it lloks like you guys are getting this.

Have fun, take care, and be careful. The first snow of the season seems to always bring out all the idiot drivers who have forgotten how to drive in winter weather--if they ever knew how to drive in the first place. Sgirty

I know what you mean Mark.
I was out squire hunting yesterday and couldn’t believe how many leaves were still green. Now there still green but covered with snow.

David the rest of the winter I’ll try to send the snow right on out your way for you.

I really don’t think most of the state got hit to bad. Mostly just us up in the mountain.

The giant snowflakes have stopped here now. Still have a lot of little ones but not as bad.
The power appears to be staying on now as well. Nope never mind fire whistle just started blowing. And the scanner says there’s more power lines down.
Anyway the branches appear to have stopped falling. I’ll give it some more time before I head out to check the woods. Nothing appears to have come down around the house.

We have a good 3 inches out on the table now. And the driveways about an inch of shush covered with snow.

Well I’m hoping the worst is over here now for the day.

Here in Colorado we had a very light dusting a couple weeks ago, which lasted about five minutes once the sun came out. Since then we've had some hard frosts, but no more snow. Usually we get one decent snow before Halloweeen.

Amatures!
12 inches of snow in a couple of hours. Just another day in Norway.
BTW: Summer is mainly four weeks of bad skiing, so we are used to it. :-) :-) :-) :-) . Get spiked tires for your car, and it is no problem.

Cheers

I heard on the news early that one of the schools that went tried to let out early and decided the roads were to bad for the busses. They were saying parents could come and pick up there children but the busses would not be allowed to pick up students until the roads got better. I don’t know if they’ve left the buses in yet or not.

Any way the storm appears to be over. The roads started to melt and are now frozen.

We only have 1 large limb down in the yard that needs cut up. I haven’t been back in the woods yet but I’m starting to think I may want to bring any thing that came down back for firewood.

Rodger I think we have you snow then. You can send someone out to get it anytime now. :-)

Dave good luck out there. I hope you guys don’t get anymore flooding from all this.

Matt I’m thinking that’s the same that happened down here. Just that I happen to be up in the hill tops.

And Erik luckily we don’t get it that bad here. But when it gets latter in the year will have it worse then today.
There have been times that we couldn’t get out of the house for a few days.

Hey Chad.

I’m out here in Somerset county. I don’t know if Lancaster got any snow or not.
I’m going to send you a PM. I hope you don’t mind.

Mojo that’s about all I did yesterday. I’m also getting ready to place an order of models so I’ll be ready for the winter.
