Hey, I've got a Dio very similar to that on the go :-) :-)
I think I prefer the small scale ones better.

I don't know about inspiration, I need a lot of motivation please

:-) :-)

Looks like it's coming along great. Are you going to put some 1:1 scale figures with it as well? :-) Can't wait to see the build up of those!

Good start, but I see some seam lines on the wall near the fireplace which need filling, and a lot of flash on the washing line. You can scrape that off with an exacto knive.

:-) :-) :-) Only kidding Peter, I like the wooded frames, will the front door be replaced aswel?

Cheers

Oh yes....

there will be 1:1 figures.

And the remaining windows and front door have now been completed.

More pics soon.

Re the seams....a dollop of filler should do the trick.....do Humbrol do it in 10 kilo tubes?
Washing line noted....trees are good though...lol.

Cheers

Coming along nicely. What figure manufacturer do you want to add? :-) :-)

BTW, where's the hidden laser defences? :-) :-) :-) :-)

Is there any PE available for it? Do you fear whatever would make BIG fingerprints on it?

LOL.... wierd... while you're putting wooden frames in, I'm planning to have all my wooden window and door frames replaced with brown aluminium frames... including double glazing on the 2 windows to the front of the house - something totally unheard of in SA - to help act as noise insulation.... I'm also having my "braai" room knocked out and having what I thought would be my hobby room/studio... apparently SWMBO has other ideas... like a dining room... ACK! that mean the out-laws will be around more often for dinner...

Anyway... back to your posting... Peter, I think the wet effect on the washing line is incredible! Can you please write a 21 page feature on how that effect was achieved? :-) :-) :-) I also like the subtle building rubble debris next to the patio... very tastefully done

:-) :-) Rudi :-) :-)

If I told you...they wouldn't be hidden anymore...lol.
Plus the wife can beat any laser cannon when the need arises.....pass the tin...or is it kevlar these days...hat.
The figure manufacturers are from Poland, Warsaw to be exact by the name of Teresa and Witold.

All the electrical points have real brass stuff. Still working on resin parts.

The washing line droplets were a pain to get right...involved much rain dancing.
A report would be a 21 page weather forecast.
And the secret for the rubble effect was a bloody big lump hammer and cold chisel....and lashings of beer....two courses per pint.

Cheers

I like the fireplace......
wish I had a fireplace in my apartment.....
But I guess it's a good idea we don't have any......
with the guy down stairs and his 2am BBQ's..... he's probably burn the place down.

By the way, what's that cute little car in the driveway?.....
I'm shopping for a new vehicle.... but that one's damaged..... they put the steering wheel on the wrong side....... :-) :-)

Hi Dave...

the fireplace is gas powered...a real flame thing.
Model toasted marshmallows anyone?

The car is a SEAT Leone SE1.8 20valve.
Not the fastest in the range but its not group 16 insurance either. It has more than adequate performance for driving in anti-speed UK. Driving is not as pleasurable as it used to be. Cops and speed cameras everywhere.
I'm very happy with it. Its really a VW Golf with a different body. Under the bonnet there's many a part with VW stamped on it. A lot cheaper than a Golf too.

Cheers

i'd have a word with the council too see if you can have that bus stop moved from the front of your house mate. i don't know how frequent they are around there but it wont be much fun having to wait for one fo those too move when you want out of your driveway.

good luck mate!

Don't know anything about British buses, but if they stop like they do over here:
1. they never pull over
2. barely stop long enough to open the door
3. pull away as you are stepping off...... or still climbing aboard..... :-) :-)

Hi
an update on the 1:1 dio....

Now all I have to do is add pictures, shelves, get the real flame fire in, tile the kitchen, then its the bathroom, bedrooms, hall and landing, the attic, the gardens, add a porch....words lost as Peter trundles off to the toolshed...mumbling where did I leave that tenon saw. Of course a modelling room too.

Seriously though, most of the work was down to Emily as I was away skiving in Riyadh.

Hi Dave...
I'm back in Saudi.
My job was left open when I went back to UK.
But as the job prospects where poor at the time, I came back to keep the wolves away from the door...lol.

Hi Shain
its a SEAT Leon 1.8 20v.
Basically its a VW Golf with diferent bodywork and interior....and a cool 2 or 3 grand less per model.

When I open the bonnet (hood) the engine has VW stamped on most parts.

I'm very happy with it...when I'm home to drive it that is

Cheers
