Here are some pictures of a 1:1 project that has been keeping me away from the modelling bench for seversl weeks now. One reason for this is that, due to re-location of the boiler into what was my spray booth, I can't do any spraying until my new spray booth is up and running. The workshop has been built so that I can use my wood working "skills" and make some extra dosh.

The spray booth will be at the far end and still requires the wall and door. The extractor is an old cooker hood extractor.

I'll post more pics with progress.

No, my modelling room is bigger than this This is going to be for woodwork, I'm building my new spray booth in it as my old place has been taken over by a new boiler.
The spray booth is built, less door, I hope to have the benches installed tomorrow or through next week.

Will this be heated? If not, how will cold temperatures in the winter affect your paint spraying and drying?

No problem, you pay my fair over there, put me up, buy me beer and food, show me the sites, pay my wage (I have no holidays left at work) and buy the materials. Shall we say after Christmas

A good question, I have insulated and boarded the interior. The spray booth is now enclosed so a small heater should provide warmth enough for painting, I hope I used to warm paint before spraying so if necessary I can go back to doing this.
One problem I had with my other spray booths was not really being able to take decent pics, because of lack of space. I would like to do an article on airbrushing and this booth gives me a lot more room. It really requires a video clip but I don't have a video camera and, as yet, I don't think there is the facility for them here (note to self, ask Jim about video clips). I have thought about a web cam and, as there is plenty of room for at least 2 others in there I am toying with the idea of offering airbrushing lessons. "Learn in a weekend what it took me 20 years to learn" or something like that

I guess with spending this much money, you have talked with people that know how much air that needs to draw, verses how much air is going to be taken outside by your vent in your paint room, haven't you.

Cause, I know, I don't know all of these things, and a lot of people don't, cause you don't want it to pull your paint that your trying to paint your models with, from to much suction, I do know there is supposed to be just the right amount of draw to be right, but what that is, I don't know.

I just want you to have everything perfect when you get it finished.

Er no, but don't worry it will work, trust me I'm a combat Engineer
I tried to get more pics late this afternoon, but the batteries gave out on my camera. I will try again tomorrow. I went to a market on on old airfield today and got a real bargin, a table saw and a chop saw for £125.00, I'm going to their shop on Friday to pick up a morticer I also sourced kitchen base units, for under my work benches for £15.00 each

Hi Mal!

I didn't knew Fliegerhorst's Luftwaffe Einheitsbaracke was THAT big! :-) I guess the inner room will be interior green and the outside will receive the classical RAF Grey and Green camo?
Thanks for sharing the pictures with us!

Great idea Jean-Luc, but SWMBO would not hear of it
Here's a couple more pics:
The wall for the spray booth is complete, as is the wall with door. This shows a few of the tools that need to be installed. You can see the table saw and chop saw (the bigger of the 2) that I got for £125.00 on Sunday :-) Picking up a brand new £199.00 morticer for £110.00 on Friday. Boy am I gonna have fun when I get this finished.

The first coat of paint on my spray booth, not interior green :-)
