Hi guys! I am temporarily a Singaporean so I can start up this topic. As some of you know there has been some discussion about how I chose Danny to be moderator. He has graciously agreed to put the matter to a community vote to determine who should be your moderator. I think we are all big believers in democracy so here goes...
Please vote for the community member of your choice. The person must at least have "Singapore" selected as their country of origin (sorry Jeremy you would have to choose).
1 vote per community member. Votes will be tallied by me.
Voting will end on November 1, 2005. Unless that is too short?
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,
Thanks for stopping by and i totally agree with having to choose. I personally would like to vote for eerie to be moderator of these forums only because he has displayed a level of maturity that i find very refreshing.
I just feel that it wouldnt be fair for me to moderate these forums simply because im no longer based in Singapore and havent been for the last 15 years. As these forums are community forums specific to the country, i personally feel its only fair to pick someone local for the job. Having said this though, if requested, i would be more than happy to help out anyway i can around here. I do hope to play a more active role on this site when the opportunity arises.
Please dont take this the wrong way as i have no animosity towards anyone in these forums. I only come here to keep in touch with people from my birth country and exchange ideas with my fellow modellers.

I think voting to end by 1st November should be fine.
I also think Danny did a great job as moderator and that this is a gracious move to step down for "democratic voting".
As for my moderator Vote... is there anyone who is willing to and up for this post? Maybe you can post your name here so that I have more choices..

I'm not too keen myself to be moderator, so I'm voting Eerie!

Personally, I don't think a moderator's job is easy. By becoming a moderator of a forum, there are some responsibilities that he/she needs to adhere to :
1. Settle members dispute - if there are any - in a totally neutral manner. States by facts, not by favouritism.
2. To be humble - we are not living in Hitler's Germany. A moderator is a person who keeps a harmonious community, not someone who likes to pick fights and claim rights just because he/she are given the "power" to.
3. To bring up the community - think out some activities that can bring up the community. Invoke new members to post & discuss the hobby. 100 members you say Jim?? How many are posting now???
4. Deep interest in the hobby - of course. this is pre-requisite to even becoming a member I think.
There are more actually but I think these are the core items I think.
I'm comfortable with how Spirits Eye runs this little forum. No reason for a change now. Hereby, my vote goes to Spirits Eye aka Danny

Hello gd people of armorama...i believe this topic ended this, but hopefully im not too late to do a last minute vote...
Ok, my vote goes to eerie...why? simple he was my platoon sergeant when i was in basic military training school...a school, just like a teacher...believe me, im not trying to suck up to him (no point) but just being plain honest...
Spent 4 mths down there and i believe that this guy can make a diff in our armorama singapore...very spontaneous, gd leadership...
So Jim there's my vote....
