O.K. Remember I mentioned abt this dio? It's still early stages, now working on the 'cast'. Here's some of them. There'll be abt 20figs in this one, I hope. Plus the T34/76, a Pak 40 and probably a destroyed German tank or some other vehicle. Need to find a kit to sacrifice for this. Any donors?

Destroyed tank?![]()
Any German vehicle will do. It doesn't have to be already destroyed. Probably a kit that went awfully wrong and is now stashed somewhere collecting dust. A German tank would do just fine! U have any 'Donor Tank' to give away or letting go dirt cheap?

LOL. would certainly make your dio unique with a modern armour in a WWII dio.
Im guessing you will need something like a Tiger or Panzer for this one. Dont have one myself im afraid as ive been mainly sticking to allied tanks.
BTW, well done on the weathering Psyfool. What did you use to simulate rust?

Well, I used 'Rust' color paint and brown mixed with orange pastel chalk powders. I just learnt using pastel chalks and I'm loving it!

Awesome stuff Mr Psyfool..! Great figure painting.

Did you say there's going to be close to 20 figures for this Berlin Dio?! Wow!! I can wait to see the completed monster.. haha
Mind sharing what are some of the kits used? The surrendering German soldier with the bandage on his hand looks very "alive"..

(as for the other with the cap.. i don't know why.. but I think his cap is either too big or he has an big long oval head.. haha..
You might want to dig the plastic from under the cap so that it fits better? Just my 2cents.. )

The kits I'm using are Soviet Infantry Tank Riders(6figs),Soviet Motor Rifle Troops(4figs) and the surrendering Germans are actually the Georgian Legion, Normandy 1944 (4figs). All are DML. The vehicles will be T34/76 (done) and Pak 40 (need to touch up) from Tamiya. Still looking for 'donor' tank. As for buildings, still deciding. Probably need to scratch built.

Forgot to add. Ur rite. The guy is wearing a big cap. I didn't want to make all of them wear helmets so I rumage thru my spares and found that cap. Not sure from where, but I think it's Trumpeters. Actually, I already made the cap smaller by trimming with pen knife.

:-) .... lets say we just take it that the Germans have thick bushy hairs under those caps & helments..
Hmm... I have an unwanted tank actually... it's the Academy one, bad fits & linked-tracks... didn't have the time to bother, so I gave up on it. It's now collecting dust still.. Unfortunately, I don't think it'll fit into your Berlin dio coz it's a desert version one..

Aiyah... you won't have much problems scratch building one building.. you're pro at that.. look at the russian offensive one and everyone can tell...

WOw, once again nice work on the figures!
You came too late asking for a 'ditched' tank. I once had an Academy Pz IV...I threw it away a few months ago! What a waste. Could have helped ya there.

Need to look thru my history books for some inspiration.

The fall of Berlin predominantly occured in the city regions of the country as by that stage of the war, the germans were digging in and purely defensive. With this in mind, you can create some heavily smashed up buildings with debris everywhere followed by german soldiers surrendering to the russians.
If you want to make a powerful dio, it would have to be right under the iron claw structure where many public speeches were conducted by Hitler.

Thanx Jazza for the tip.
It will definitely be in a city setting but need to get some reference pix to 'try' to scratchbuild the buildings. U have any good reference pix? Probably I can also watch Downfall or Hitler: Rise of Evil. The scenes are mainly in Berlin during the last days of the war.

Very Very very Nice figure painting!
(maybe it's because I dread painting figures... :-))
I like the whole scene... how it starts to work out.
Another idea I can think of would be the Russians rolling into Berlin. This scene would be just at the edge of Berlin (countryside). Germans soldiers starting to surrender already.

Haha... what strikes me most is the commander. Shooting the gun ordering the soldiers off the tank..

To set the scene, this part of Berlin is always constantly shown in documentaries as it portrayed the power of the nazis at the time.
Now use a little imagination and imagine the buildings and columns levelled to this:
Now take your models and arrange it in such a way that the german soldiers are surrendering from within the debris.
Lotsa imagination involved.
I only checked www.ww2incolor.com but im sure there are heaps of reference photos floating on the web.

Now to start scratchbuilding my buildings!
