Stuck on a decent headlamp lens for my 1:8 T34-85 tank.

It needs the raised detail to look right, a plain lens (that I have tried) just looks wrong and spoils the tank. Tried looking for model cars in second hand shops, no good. The only suitable lens to date was in a new car kit at £25/$40!

Diameter of around 25 mm (1 inch). Photograph of the actual lens in Gallery/On the Workbench/T34-85.

Most grateful for any advice.

Many thanks.

I don't know if this will work, but what if you tried to stretch a clear sprue thin enough for scale, would you be able to glue it on? In the meantime I'll try to brainstorm something else.

Try going to an auto parts store. They may have actual vehicle lights that are that small with the pattern similar. These would probably be for reverse lights or maybe trailer marker lights.
