It's been a great weekend at Euro Militaire 2005! Seen lot's of great models and talked to a whole bunch of people from all over the planet. The atmosphere was great and the models superb. What more could a modeller want?

I compiled a bunch of pictures into a gallery and posted it on my personal website.
Here's the URL if you can't resist a peek: http://members.home.nl/mjussen/euromil05/

Unfortunately I messed up my photography of the Best of Show made by my clubmate Marijn van Gils. His entry was set up behind glas plus the overdose painkillers for my hernia and the obligatory sundaymorning headache wasn't a good combination for quality photography.

See ya at next year's Euro Mil.

Cheers,
Marcel Jussen

Sorry. The index pages got messed up but it's been fixed now.
The guy getting the award is the winner of the Best of Show. He's my clubmate Marijn van Gils. A real nice guy and a top modeller in his own class.

Cheers,
Marcel

It seems to be the common theme here summed up in two words, wow and jealous.

I maybe opening a can of worms here, but um, I think the Europeans have it all over us when it comes to dios. I've never seen so many beauties in one spot before. And hey! Our merchandising in the vendor area wasn't even that good looking at World Expo!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that a 625.00 dollar Mig boat that I saw cut and abused? OMG! Forgive me, I'm just shell shocked, those photos are wonderful, and told a story that I'll never forget.
Thank you so much for posting them. I really liked the shot of the guy underwater being shot at, you could even see the bullet stream in the water. How cool was that?

My jaw is still on the floor. Simply brilliant stuff. These dioramas are absolutely superb.

I second that! This is my favorite diorama of all posted, although the boat with t-34 turret is a close second.

Photos like these could get a guy discouraged. I look at what I have done so far and think to myself; "Self, your stuff is really lame comparing to all that you see here." Then again, this will probably motivate me to try some new techniques and go wild. :-)

First of all:
Thanks for sharing the pictures Marcel!

Vinnie and EasyOff:

Skipper

EDIT: it was also very nice to see some of the things we saw "growing" in Armorama there

Wish you had more pics of the Figures -will have to wait for those- Lovely photos and great inspiration, and ideas, I know what you mean when you see a friend do well _ I have a couple of mates who just blow me out of the water with their work -but they are always helpful so you always celebrate it when They win- it is even better that your own wins sometimes

Hey there Marcel,

Thanks for the pictures, I am proud to see a fellow Canadian make it over to Euro Militaire, although his name escapes me at the moment, and I should be ashamed for it, since he just won Best In Show at last week's CAPCON '05 in Ottawa.

It was the dio called Bloody Colonials. Could you tell me if you remember if he won anything for it over at Euro Militaire????

Thanks

Yeah I know....while I have quite a few pics from the show....its not my club....and I didn't want to go stepping on any toes as far as posting pics of their show....although I am sure they wouldn't care!! lol

I still have to go through them and reduce them down in size so that they are a little more convieniant to upload.

Was hoping that IPMS Ottawa would have them on their site by now....but I know there was a lot of hard work that went into the show and that the organizers are enjoying a well deserved rest!!!

If they aren't up on their site in a week, I will get the powers that be post them up here.

I love Douglas Lee's work, I spent over an hour studying that dio at World Expo. His colors just pop. I got to talk to him as well. That was a real treat.

Good news is that Douglas start producing his own figures and accessoiries. They will be available from november on. I have seen some pre-production samples and the sculpting and casting were perfect. A lot of the big name firms could learn from this!!!

Cheers,

Gino
