Hello folks,
I’ve been lurking here for a while and took the plunge to sign up a few days ago. This site is great, so much useful info and so many skilled people with talents I can only envy. But I’m getting there.
I painted my first white metal figure at 11 using my Dad’s Humbrol paints for his model railway. He was suitably impressed and gave me a great deal of encouragement to continue. And continue I have for the last 20 years. Painted both metal figures and plastic kits until about 5 years ago when I gave up the metal figures after my Warhammer army grew to about 300 fully painted models! I’ve done reasonably well at shows with them and was asked to paint for my local GW store for their customer window display.
Since then I have moved heavily into 1/35 armour and figures. Mainly German WW2 and US & Israeli modern.
Having painted with acrylics for years I’m now turning my hand back to enamels (or will do when they arrive via mail order). This is mainly due to reading these pages!
Simon

Yeah I've got quite a collection! Mainly it's my Beast of Chaos as they are now called. It’s easy to see how such armies grow: Four core regiments of 25+ each, plus a couple of Special regiments of the same size and some nice units of large monsters and assorted flying and flanking units, plus a Dog of War unit and you’ve hit the 150 mark and about 4,000 “points” in the game!
On top of my beloved Beasts I’ve got a Dark Elf army, Tau (40k army), Eldar (40k army) the beginnings of a Space Wolves army. Sold off my huge Empire army some time ago (so that would have added at least another 100+). Always fancied a Wood Elf army but I’ve other things to spend my meagre income now!! Like Panzers and 251’s….

I won't bore the other but have a 500+ dwarf army that can now make 4 sizeable dwarf themed armies(including my all time fav slayers- cause if I die I win-gotta luv that twisted idea) I have an over 100 figure Empire Middenheim themed army- that is my warhammer- Now there is my 40k -300 space marines of my IONA chapter. a Death compant Blood angles army, I am starting on space puppies,3 Imperial Guard armies 150+ based on old squat figures,One themed on British guard, and one ragtag planetary system army, 2 Space ork armies 100 blood bowl figures, see what happens when I start -I just love them and I do paint them for Games Wskp cause I work there-I am 46 today and I must be the oldest casual around- I also do historical 75mm and 120 mm figs also do hand sculpted dwarvies that stand 110mm tall(or is that short) keep in touch Sim - Love to see photos (lots and Lots-) especially since you gw shop asks you to paint 'em
