I think I saw those weathering powders at the LHS yesterday. I'm not sure, I really didn't pay that much attention. I guess people will be buying these to work on all the new DML kits now that Tamiya isn't bringing out diddly that is new? (sorry, couldn't resist that dig)

There has been several threads on this one and have heard some good reviews from those who have used it. I might get it once its out at my LHS but like Rodger said though, i would much rather prefer to see newer models being rolled out. Im pro-Tamiya though so its all good.

I dunno about modeling with items that look like a chick's makeup compact :-)

Saw the powders at my LHS this past Sunday. Haven't used them so I have no comment on how they work. "Q"

Lots of people mentioned that but i do find comfort knowing that these powders are used for enhancing ones age and chicks will be doin the runner when they know about this.

What's a set of these run? Never used dusting powders before, but these might be interesting and maybe with a coat of dullcoat they might stay on. Does great models or any of the on-line stores carry them?

I have both sets of weathering powders. Picked them up at the hobby show this past weekend.
The reason they look like a 'chick's comapct' is that they are essentially the exact same thing. Only difference is these come in mud, sand, soot, rust, etc. Haven't seen those colors in the makeup section. :-)
I have not had the opportunity to use them yet, but they look like they will come in handy.
As for price, I believe they run about $5 in the US. Up here in Canada, the importer has put them in the $10Cdn range.
Considering the price of Mig pigments, these are a pretty good buy IMHO.

I have commented on these products in the past. I really like the weathering sticks but the compact things arent as good in my opinion. u r better off using powders.

I bought mine from http://www.best1hobby.com/. The powders were $9.25 (USD) and the sticks were $4.40, each. I haven't used either yet, but have read some good reviews about them.

I bought a set from my LHS & tried them out. Whether they have dried out in transit I don't know, but they were very hard to get out of the "compact". Are you supposed to wet them? The instructions aren't clear. I found I got the result I was after by turning to some Railway powders I bought years ago.
