Looks like I’m getting a modeling room.

well we have a large mostly open basement and I’ve been getting ready to wall off one side of it to make a wood shop.
And I just got a great idea. I can put a small modeling room down there in it.

See I have this bench I was thinking of using for modeling.

I’m going to put this in the one corner and wall it in.

Now the room will only be about as long as the bench and only wide enough for me to walk in and sit comfortably as well as being able to open the cabinet doors. But I really don’t mind working in small places and its location doesn’t take up hardly any usable room in the wood shop. And it will not have any outside walls so I won’t get any windows.

It does have a few good pluses.
It will a also be right at the door to enter the wood shop so there won’t be mush dust on the path to the modeling room. The direction the doors facing is away from where any saws will be so it shouldn’t have much dust being blown at cracks around the door.

The back wall of the room (witch isn’t built yet.) Already has wires ran to it for electric on the other side of the wall. I can easily run 2 or 3 electric boxes and lights ran from there when I do that work.

And best of all its right next to a bathroom. Now the bathrooms not finished yet and one of the things that needs done is a vent being put in it. And with the wall not closed in yet between the bathroom and where the modeling room will be so I’ll be able to install a vent in the modeling room very easily.

Now I don’t know when this will be completed. It could take a year or 2 to get finished but as you can probably tell I’m really excited about this.

so now I have a question for you guy.

Is there anything I should really try to put in this room or anything I should really watch out for.

I second the motion for a fridge. You could probably also use a TV and a microwave :-)

There is a fridge just a few feet from where the door will be so.......

Anyway I’m only 19 so I have to wait 2 more years legally.

I’m starting to think I may leave an “open space” in there that some day if we get a newer computer I could put this one down there.
Would probably be a big help to have Armorama right there next to the workbench.

And I didn’t mention before are basement has a heated floor so I’ll be fine during Pennsylvania’s Cold snowy winters.

Now if only I had a place to put a fireplace in. :-)

Well I don’t have that HER but sadly my mother lives with me.
Otherwise I would still be using the Diningroom as my modeling room. Now its just too noisy and things get moved around. Oh well.

If possible, get wood laminate flooring or something other than a carpet, so the carpet monstor doesn't strike again!

cheers
