more for the Brits lurking on the '"Big A" but (hopefully..) of some interest to the wider community, as the title says, here in England it is a Bank (public) Holiday, generally meaning rain, overturned caravans on the moterways and endless queues at IKEA and all DIY/ garden centres..but
lovely weather, traffic not too bad and Im too drunk to do any DIY so meh
Anyhoo, over the weekend so far I've taken the chance to visit a couple of museums around East Anglia, http://www.aviationmuseum.net/, http://www.cnam.co.uk/ and http://www.aeroflight.co.uk/mus/uk/1-b/100thmus.htm and I wish to do a bit of shameless promotion on their behalf. All of these museums (like many/ most I guess..) really depend on donations to keep running, only CNAM charges a small entry fee and it is well worth double IMHO..but more importantly they are damn good!! The staff are mostly voluntary but well informed, genuinely enthusiastic and very accomodating if you want photos etc..I know that many will never be in the position travel-wise to go to places like these (and many, many more like them..) but if you ever get the chance, please make the effort, drop in and give them the support/ cold, hard cash they deserve...My drunken rant over I shall wish everyone well, especially in the US (re. Shaun Keenans post) I heard about Katrina on the radio driving home today, coming from a Nation that seems to grind to a halt from a half-inch of snow or a tree falling over I cant quite get my heard around a Cat. 5 hurricane, so take it easy everyone and go and visit your local museums!!

EDIT.. just saw my spelling!!..gotta be time for that second bottle of wine, tightens the eyeball and sharpens the reflexes..ahem, I mean, enjoy responsibly...
